we are creating a pull I see the blood of those crossing the med firmly on Merkel's hands.
Support them close to the border, no permanent residency by default.
There is a reason we are seeing more migrants (and sorry I doubt many are refugees despite what the left think) spending what in their home country is a fortune (where are they getting that from?) to get to Europe is that they will get citizenship.

While I get the point about free movement it should not be applied to people seeking refuge. They should be held at the border of the first country they come to where they should receive medical help, identification a skills appraisal and fresh clothes. Then once we know who they are and what they need we could distribute them in a controlled manner. The only thing we are doing today is causing a massive problem for tomorrow.

EU holidaymakers will need to pay £100 to come to the UK.
We should take a leaf out of Trump's book and build a wall between us and the continent....

On the bright side, the story's in the Mail so it isn't true, any more than your gubbins about Merkel isOriginally posted by Chuck View PostSo the EU are considering a £10 charge for people coming legally in to the EU because they need to be security checked? While at the same time, Merkel has opened the doors to anyone who fancies coming, illegally, from places where they can't be checked.
Joined upEU thinking at its best.
And even if it were true, it would only apply to UK citizens if Brexit happened, so it won't.

Is it really anything to do with Brexit. I don't think so.Originally posted by milanbenes View PostBrexit means Brexit
Milan.
Ireland is also not in Schengen, so if they introduced this, it would also apply to them - and Ireland could probably challenged it under freedom of movement! But it would apply to people entering the so-called Schengen zone, which excludes the UK - meaning British travellers would also have to pay to travel to other EU countries

Hah - what a shock
British holidaymakers could need to pay for £10 visa to visit the EU in security crackdown | Daily Mail Online
British holidaymakers face paying for £10 visa to visit the EU under Brussels security crackdown
EU is discussing introducing a version of the US visa waiver programme
International travellers heading to the US are usually exempt from a visa
But they have to apply for an electronic system travel authorisation
This costs around £10 - and EU could introduce similar scheme
I must be prescient.Tags: None
