I was at HSBC many years back in the Wharf.
Whilst there on site a colleague sat behind me was not the phone to HSBC business banking complaining, I think he ended up asking for their PSID. Despite the fact they were on the same network (I think they were even able to Sametime each other) they couldn't help him...

I had to call them once on the phone, went through the usual security questions and was asked what's the xth and zth letter of your password.. to which the response came back, no the zth is incorrect, you've given me z+1, I asked for zth, do you want to try again...
So instead of inputting the blind response and waiting for the computer to say Y or N, the operator could see my password, letter by letter in plain text...
I left straight away...
No idea how their systems are now but thought at the time it was awful..

Didn't even know I needed to jail-break my android phone.
I would violate my client's IT policy by doing so.

Other free banks from the old guard: Clydesdale, Yorkshire, TSB, Co-Operative
You can usually get one of those and set a diary entry to swap out in 2 years time or so.

Mettle are owned by RBS, under both the Natwest and RBS brands. It isn't as slick and has bugs. If you want free Freeagent, just get a mettle account, transfer money to and from it infrequently and use Starling as your main business current account. I wouldn't trust mettle to use day to day, given how buggy their app is. Starling rates the highest and regularly receives awards for features and customer service.

That's interesting, I didn't know anyone offered per-transaction. Taking a quick look that's quite neat.
