LinkedIn is shocking now. All I see is
1) People making stupid polls asking a question like what does SQL stand for with 4 options. Why I don't know. Mostly from Indian people who are trying to prove they are clever in some way?
2) People moaning about agencies ghosting them

Who knows. I do know that the traditional way of applying for roles has become a lottery. Unless you have a good network or a recruiter contacts you directly then it's a pure game of luck now IMHO....

No I wasn't benched. Have worked continually since Covid. Just been looking for permie roles for long time whilst I was still in a contract....

Couldn't agree with this post more. I don't think the contract market will ever come back. Unless there is something major like Y2K, which is highly unlikely. But if you have specialist skills you will be fine but most of us don't. On ageism, I thought I wouldn't find a permie job at 55, was looking...
