All those companies you mention are on the indian outsourcing train they all have 1st class tickets in avoiding employing anyone outside of the outsourcer resource pool (I avoided using the word talent pool for obvious reasons as it does not take much talent to sit in a packed room using google search...

Been like that for ages the actual work is still around but you will never see so much as a sniff of it as 99.9% is left to the indian outsourcers who now dominate & control the entire market. Only time you will see a contract in London is when the Front Office business management people paying...

Its not just IT jobs which are scarce.....Many of the IB's I used to work at are dumping MD's & other expensive front office staff like its going out of fashion! The sea change is rapid I think the entire job industry is constantly changing & evolving but no-one really knows where its heading...

Those 9 recruitment firms are ALL HCL satellite companies I am 100% certain of that...if you could get to the murky bottom of their accounts you will find its somehow part of the now vast HCL empire which is a big part of undercutting UK IT resource!!
