Strict working hours combined with long daily commutes plus rubbish pay are all part if it....even allowing for all of this I doubt it will happen as volume of applicants so it is pretty...

It is fine when wfh to flex you hours....but this is an office role so you can't turn up as and when ....that is the minimum set hours for the team...then the commute is a drive of at least an hour so leaving home say 7.30 maybe a little earlier and then getting home on a good run 6.30 at earliest....I...

When did 8.30 to 5.30 become the working hours?
Agency just rang me about a role and said these are the hours ...am used to 9 to 5...seems a lot when you factor in at least an hour's commute too...

It is beyond grim...thought I may have a few weeks work that didn't even happen...
Just nothing doing even if you are prepared to look at 50% rate drop....

Anyone taken on very short roles…chance of a 6 week role inside IR35…normally I’d not look at a job that short. Won’t extend it has cut off mid Feb….so 6 weeks…can’t say am enthused !...

It is grim ....nothing coming up jobs wise....you can probably earn more being an Uber driver....I know someone doing it and they make about £40 plus an hour and hours that suit...what has it come to that highly skilled iT work is decimated...and you earn more driving a cab these days ...

It really gets my goat!! lazy agents don't want to put in any work...they want the candidates to do their job for them...perm role job you submit your CV, then they want a one pager covering letter highlighting a match with your skills to the job....surely that is what the CV is showing your skills...so...

I suspect that the numbers are actually much higher other sources seem to suggest that they are ....so last year over £1million in net migration ....jeez that is the size of a very large city...surely the madness needs to end!...

Tories wanted cheap labour and to drive wages down....Labour won't fix it though...

SussexSeagull yep I know that being interested doesn't mean they will be seriously considered but it gives a flavour of what is going on....the names are dominated by Indians probably in a ratio of about 90% plus which is alarming....that particular group dominate and it is borne out again by the numbers...

agree 100% SussexSeagull serious questions need to be raised asap...
I know lots of people in IT and in Finance and they simply cannot get work...when you look on LI at the jobs posted by agencies and people reply saying that they are interested in the job most names are Indian bar none...

Headline news today....just seen on TV talking about the latest ONS migration figures released to the quarter ended June 2024....biggest number of work visas again are to Indians 116,000 visas issued.
Overall net migration drop by 20% to 700k (from all time high) driven primarily by the...

Still looking with no joy…the job at £400 day/£70k never materialised agent said they took someone lees experienced on £300 per day inside.
I’m find LI beyond tedious and not helpful so many ads and pointless stuff and more desperation posts by the day …lot of single parent sob...Last edited by Cookielove; 23 November 2024, 13:15.
