Although the UK (including Heathrow) historically aligned with EU aviation security standards, the UK is not part of the EU's "One Stop Security" area, which typically allows travelers connecting between two EU airports (or an EU airport and certain...

Lovely.
You can't beat an English country lane at this time of year on a sunny day with all the cow parsley in full bloom.
That yellow stuff looks like rape, though, and my missus can't be within a mile of it as it triggers the worst hayfever imaginable.

So, do you find your east to west journey better on the French side or do you take the Chunnel and chance your arm with all the tailbacks over here?
Whilst the Eurotunnel is a great service, the drive was a total nightmare last time so I'd probably think about Portsmouth to Caen in future...

Duple: 70 Years of Coachbuilding by Alan Towsin.
As an ex Mech. Eng. an interesting read.
Had no idea of the origins of the company name - the founder's original venture was the production of a convertible pick up - during the week, you used it for deliveries and on the weekend,...Last edited by Croesus; 20 May 2026, 13:14.

Well, I've just done the unthinkable.
Agent called me last Tuesday and offered me a "working interview" at a less than average day rate with a company not too far from where I live.
Honestly, it had red flags all over it - maternity leave cover, 2nd line support etc...
