Personally I think it's mostly irrelevant with the key thing being ...."am I happy with the rate I'm getting and does it reflect market rate?".

Agencies have to make a margin and, anyone thinking they're working for contractors needs to give their head a wobble.

Doesn't always mean you're sat idle though - most places will find you work you can do ... until it comes through.

I've worked on some MoD and aerospace contracts that need SC [and still have active SC via current role / sponsor]. Access may be be restricted until you get it but no-one is escorting you to the bog ...
