Personally I think it's mostly irrelevant with the key thing being ...."am I happy with the rate I'm getting and does it reflect market rate?".
Agencies have to make a margin and, anyone thinking they're working for contractors needs to give their head a wobble.

Doesn't always mean you're sat idle though - most places will find you work you can do ... until it comes through.
I've had it a few times and been in roles where it's been renewed [current expiry is 2030]. Might not explicitly get you a role but it's worth to have if you can move from...

I've worked on some MoD and aerospace contracts that need SC [and still have active SC via current role / sponsor]. Access may be be restricted until you get it but no-one is escorting you to the bog

Seems like I'm one of the few not bothered about the commute. I have similar on the odd day I go to the office [which was more frequent at the start] on my inside IR35 role.
Leave at six to get there for 9, work as much as being in an office full of people allows, shorter lunch, finish...
