I can concur that there are fake recruiters or strange people on LinkedIn. The clue is "nice little project with potential for extensions".

So are you expert genealogist as well? What you describe is sampling rate of 2 over 2 decades. Have you heard of a person being a Russian Jew, German Prussian Pole, or maybe learnt about Naming Tradition culture in different parts of the world? So they want someone with advanced Kotlin and Java Spring Boot with front end knowledge to contract for the range £55,000 [ == 220 * 250pd ], £66,000 [ == 220 * 300pd ] - I don't live anywhere near Coventry to boot, but this client will get what they are prepared to pay for, if they find someone....

Perhaps reorder into relevance of client interest.
Read back-end staff engineer. List the versions. Java 25 (just released September 2025), 21 (previous LTS - long term release September 2023) or Java 8 (released 2013)

Just heard Badenoch's speech on the BBC Spounds Five Live app. Stamp Duty?! jfc. How about removing the entire IR35 or sending the Loan Charge back to oblivion?
