Option (1) all the way :-) You've got savings (200-250Kish) which ought to get you out of any money situations that might arise.

And tbh I think that's how it should always have been (i.e. give someone a chance of promotion\change etc and then backfill their old position) but the role shouldn't be externally advertised until the internal route is exhausted....

Currently in a contract supposedly until end of November, I say "supposedly" because the project workload has dropped of a cliff due to planned work being scaled back. So I'm actively looking and applying for contracts. If\when the contract ends I'll also include perm roles in my search as...

How on earth can the recipient legitimately be fined in this instance? Do these letters actually get put in the letterbox if so presumably it's too late to refuse it or are we expected to check the stamp and then return to PO?...
