It means billionaires are doing alright, basically. Plenty of gaslighting from the media up until October but the US election results finally said out loud what everyone knows.
The job markets everywhere stink. I think IT is especially bad right now though. At some point these overvalued...

I do hope you are right. But I don't really see the rationale where thats coming from except "it goes in cycles"....

I also feel this way. I think the comparison between blockbuster and IT is an apt one. Who are we to claim we know that tech trends "go in cycles", nay, we don't have any idea. Its a market thats existed for so few years we have no way of knowing. I think its over. Maybe just maybe with the...

I dined out a hell of a lot on my SC. But even they started giving those away like candy a while back. Lets just saying speaking English is not a perquisite to attaining one. I assume DV is the new SC. That is, if you can get a company to sponsor DV....

Why wouldn't tech be headed the same way as...IDK automotive production, etc.
We could already be in the future and you don't realize it. I mean I wish I was wrong but I can't see it bouncing back, if anything its found its value point.
My predictions are, support, maintenance, niche....

Nothing wrong I think. I've been without for over a year. Theres still the little trolls on here who will say its because you don't have a LinkedIn or whatever. But its not about your CV. The reality is its the market that decides these matters for you. Tech as we knew it is Dead. Now its just about...

Well this is it. Isn't the Economy at an all time high, and supposedly there are still job shortages aren't there? Eventually its all got to give, right?...

I was under the impression AI had already reached peak stupidity and is on the down again. I don't think I've ever been realistically placed to take advantage of it. By the time I learn enough about it, it will long be over.
If indeed tech is a cyclical industry (lets be honest, we have...

I deleted my LI earlier this year, and have no intention of rebuilding it. I can somewhat see the argument for having LI as a CV although its all just bit too creepy for me.
Whilst, yes you can take reasonable steps to sell yourself, this LI stuff is a bit inconsequential. I do get asked...

Possibly working abroad, but we have kids and that's no life. Besides I worked abroad for a long time, and those jobs that I could have walked into 4 years ago don't exist now. That is to say, yes I would consider it if I could get those gigs I used to get.
I'm just sitting around crossing...

A really bad time for a career change
So...no work for over a year. No contract, nor perm either. A few first stage interviews, the companies I worked for in the past are not hiring. We are living off the other halfs salary.
This is most certainly life trying to send me a message: It is the burning bush, a road to damascus....

I think for me the worst aspect are the fake jobs on LI. I have actually found some companies through LI, but I always apply direct to their website. But still, I have got nothing ever from LI.
Maybe 4 years ago it was slightly relevant, but lets face it, it was easy to get a job back then....

I deleted LI earlier this year and never looked back. Never got anything from it. Its worse than FB because it pretends its a professional platform, and well at least FB has some decent second hand advertisements. Not even mentioning all the corp cringe slop and bulltulip its always putting in your ...
