38 bus to that Swansea: the rain started in Jersey Marine & by the time we reached Swansea it wasn't taking prisoners any more: wore the Wrong Jacket for that sort of thing.

The month's pile of books donated to Oxfam: I'm sure they'll be really grateful. . Particularly for the 3 ex-libris ones. .

T12 back to Neath, where it was dry until I was 300 yards from home, whereupon it started to rain again. Just as well I didn't strip the bed then, innit?

Walk (abbreviated, 3miles) walked in the grey gloom with umbrella at the ready. Found more discarded fishing tackle, this time a pretend fish thing with two triple hooks, presumably for pike, this being about all that's in the canal these days.

Whilst in that Swansea I observed an unfortunate chap with neurofibromatosis.

Tea: Tesco battered/breaded "white" fish. Nice enough.

Entertainment: S4C: Penrhyn Castle. Built as one might expect by a slave owner or two.

Jack Hargreaves: Out of town: rake maker: impressive if you need a wooden hay rake made by "John Sims & Sons" who'd been at it for a mere 200 years.

Ernest Sims, a rakemaker from Pamber End, Hampshire, who was still taking occasional orders for hay rakes in 1983 at the age of 88.

Stagecoach: even more impressive: septic brings a stagecoach over, finds 6 suitable "pinto" horses and proceeds to get them to pull said stagecoach. Then takes the rig across Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Germany advertising cancer sticks. Who'd have thunk?

Patchy cloud out, looking as if it might turn out quite sunny, or go the other way and become much gloomier. The weather app thinks the latter. A bit colder too: 13°C which “feels like” 9°, though it will climb to 18° for a brief spell this afternoon. The barometers are back up a bit at 1007/1015mB

Bright and dry with a fair bit of fluff loitering. Currently 16 degrees with a high of 19 expected. Barometer up to 1020 mBar.

There is nothing particularly pressing for me to do today, other than continue to avoid cleaning the floors. That's a two stage job of sweeping, maybe hoovering instead, and mopping.

In this morning’s Show & Tell, I had little to either show or tell. But I managed to fill some time with the documentation I produced about getting PyCharm working in the new development environments and such, and (though I hadn’t realised it) the head of software development happened to have joined and spoke highly of it; so that reflected some glory on everybody

After that, we squeezed the retrospective and sprint planning into an hour, largely because there’s very little to plan: our goal is for this to be the final full-time sprint on this thing before it goes into maintenance mode and I move on to other work, occasionally being dragged back kicking and screaming if a bug surfaces or something needs tweaking
