      Morning denizens

It was supposed to dip down to about 8°C last night, and maybe it did, for it’s 11° (“feels like” 8°) at the moment, having been 10° less than an hour ago; but the bedroom was still at 20° when I awoke, so I’ll have to start leaving the big window open. For though today’s predicted high is only 19°, it’ll be up to 23° tomorrow and 25° at the end of the week. That won’t save us from “light” rain though, which is expected to start here shortly, it still being quite cloudy. The barometers aren’t as optimistic as they might be, being down to 1006/1013mB

A long walk has been had, and while it's CBS, etc now, at around 5:50 there was an almighty downpour.

          Morning.

          Monday.

          Dry.

          Sunny.

          Blue sky.

19.3 deg in here, 20.5 in the kitchen, 19 in the leanto.

1007 mBar, 29.74 in Hg, 755.3 Torr, 14.6 psi, (down from 1010 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 30th of March 2020 AndyGarbs, Churchill, LM, LondonManc, me, NF, and xogg popped in.

This morning's waking happened at 04:50 or so, and nod returned without the need for reading. Which was good.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: "Heatwave" a thing about the summer of 1976, including the Trico equal pay strike.

Shopping trip to Tesco done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away. Missed the 38 by 30 seconds, so a 20 minute wait for the 34 out, with the 4 back at 37 past the hour.

Now, being outside a mug of consistent yet mediocre coffee, it's time to hack more of the front hedge. .

I noticed that her next door was busy this morning doing something about the brambles. Doing that with bare arms is the height of stupidity unless you enjoy bathing in antiseptic. It's amazing how jungle-like that garden has become since the trans twat got upset about that tree that was bringing the garden wall down. It's notable that he/she/it never manages to bend his/her/its back in any way in the garden. Bet that petrol lawn mower has seized up since I didn't bother emptying the petrol tank or spraying oil up the bore.

Front hedge duly massacred. . I suppose it'll grow back eventually. Lots of dead wood in it: now extracted.

Tea: chilli con carne etc. Nice enough. Entertainment: PM. "The Directors: John Ford". (It's less irritating than the 18 o'clock news).

Thing about Stonehenge with Alice Roberts on BBC4.

          More bollox on Blaze.

            Morning all

Cloudy with occasional gaps. Currently 16 degrees with a high of 23 expected. A light shower may occur mid-morning. Barometer down to 1017 mBar.

            Sunrise 04:44; Sunset 21:20 BST

Hmm... suspicious that my sunrise/sunset times are the same as yesterday. A quick look at timeanddate.com suggests different times for London. I am assuming that 'London' is Trafalgar Square but, even so, that doesn't account for the difference.

I woke a good hour before my alarm this morning. Dozed off and woke again when my alarm went off. Then Kier Starmer's droning voice making that announcement about banning social media put me into some kind of soporific state where I kept thinking I might be awake but I wasn't really.

Been spending hours repairing my shed which had rotted in one corner. Hadn't noticed water was leaking in as behind shelving.

                      That’s Monday done

Quite a productive day in parts. I tried a solution to the concurrency problem, and it worked OK in my test script. So then I dug around the web and found that yes, it seems to be a valid solution to the problem; so once I’ve checked a few more things, I should be good to go ahead. And I worked out a way we can fix the data that got screwed up, or at least I think we can - I need to investigate that some more

Meanwhile on the lawn, a gull decided to visit while I was in the kitchen getting a cup of coffee this afternoon. A squirrel that was browsing around down there seemed too freaked out even to run as the huge bird slowly swooped down towards it, but it just landed a couple of feet away and started ambling about, completely ignoring the squirrel. One of the young magpies was down there and cleared off sharpish, circling round high up for a bit as the gull wandered around inspecting the place, before finally coming back and settling in the tree in the middle. The youngsters have been getting a bit cheeky lately, chasing pigeons away from the flowerbed and even swooping at one of the blackbirds the other evening. But the arrival of this huge bird, four or five times their size, seemed to give them pause for thought and they stayed well clear

As usual, the gull wandered about for a bit then flew off. I think they just get mildly curious about the place and drop in for a look around
