    Morning all

Sunny with lumps of fluff. There was less fluff when I got up. Currently 12 degrees ('feels like' 10) with a high of 13 expected. Barometer down a snifter to 1025 mBar.

    Sunrise 05:55; Sunset 20:06 BST

I was awoken around 05:45 or thereabouts by a coughing fit but fell back to sleep soon enough.

Shopping has been done, at both M&S and Big Sainsbury’s!

I went past the old place on the way over, where the chestnut trees outside are just starting to show their pink candles

I should have gone back that way too, as there were roadworks with temporary lights causing delays on the other route

It’s still nice out, turning rather Simpsonesque as fluffy white clouds develop. It seems it might get properly cloudy soon, though

Saturday’s burger came with some free chicken nuggets, so I had them for lunch along with a few fries and ketchup. Rather bland; I’m glad I didn’t pay for them

And the afternoon has been devoted to working out what was going wrong with the new forum import of attachments. Turned out to be something involving server config; I suspect I’ll need to consult with whoever manages the servers nowadays before the real thing. But it seems to be working in my Docker container, so that’s another step sorted out (probably)

For tea tonight, Sainsbury’s Korean beef in a spicy honey-based sauce, with rice. Pretty nice, it turned out to be

Accompanying this, the second part of the 24 Hours in Police Custody from last week. It can’t be helpful to your case when the police ask a close relative about you and they say “He’s an evil bastard and I think he’s guilty”

Tonight’s reading was the last bit of Here, There and Everywhere. And then I started on I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, which is very good so far

              Goodnight all

                Morning all

Overnight frost made for a bit of ice build up on my boots when walking through the fields. It was CBS and chilly earlier, but there’s some cloud coming in now.

Might get some laundry done today.

I also need to scope out the work for a new starter joining Gig3 tomorrow. I know what it will be but it's not yet written up in a helpful or testable requirements fashion.

What is the point of blocking your diary as unavailable only for people to ignore that and book a meeting anyway?

Then when you decline, pointing out that your calendar showed you as unavailable, they just say "thanks for letting me know". I'm apparently essential to the meeting they have set up, so you'd think they'd check I could actually attend.
