Nice walk with (not) loony lady 3 yesterday by some lakes. Nowt on today except drink at village club maybe.
There's a tiny little spider wandering around on my monitor. Some company anyway.

Today’s big adventure is defrosting the freezer. It hasn’t got that icy in there over the three years I’ve been here, but it had built up to the point where it was starting to feel like Something Should Be Done. Then, the other day, it turned out one of the drawers hadn’t gone all the way back in because of ice, which in turn meant the door wasn’t quite closed. It was only a tiny gap but it had the unfortunate effect of somehow making the ice grow, making it even harder to get the drawer back in properly when I discovered what had happened. A good hard shove did the trick, but I can’t be bothered doing that every time, so I’ve turned it off, opened the door, and placed bowls of hot water within to help the thawing process along
The old freezer hasn’t yet been disposed of, but struggles to get any of its shelves below -10°C nowadays. But it’s able to serve as a temporary repository for the frozen stuff, because that’s better than leaving it all out at room temperature

Morning denizens
Rather a grey and windy day, and expected to continue so. It’s 8°C, though that “feels like” 0°, and will only get as high as 10°. The barometers are heading back down again at 1004/1012mB
Looking ahead at the 10-day forecast, it appears that the weather in the buildup to Christmas Eve will continue in much the same vein, though with the added likelihood (65%-90%) of rain on six of those days and the possibility (unquantified) of sunny spells on just one of them
Anyway, it’s Sunday and I don’t have ClientGov work on Monday, so that’s enough reason to be reasonably content

^^^ But at least he wasn't the Orange grandson of a pimp.
Morning.
Sunday.
Dry.
Hints of sun.
Chilly in here at 14.1 deg, 12.5 in the kitchen, 12 in the leanto.
1013 mBar, 29.91 in Hg, 759.8 Torr, 14.69 psi, (down from 1018 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 6th of March 2020 Brillo, eek, and AndyGarbs popped in, whilst NF took his car to the vets for an MOT then wandered around doing some shopping on the way back home.
Looks like they are having somewhat less than fun in Sydney. I wonder which brand of nutter is responsible for this one. Ho hum. Ah. That brand of nutter, who'd have guessed?
.
Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the grey gloom. A layer less than yesterday so I didn't overheat.
Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: thing about David Harewood. <click at the first bar of the music for next POS>
Book.
It's raining.
Tea: beans on toast etc. Nice enough. Entertainment: the thing about postcodes: a gigantic one off Inverness and the ever increasing 2nd homes with the concomitant every decreasing number of children in the skools.
Freecell.

Tonight’s reading was The Confessions of Samuel Pepys by Guy de la Bédoyère, which uses the evidence in the diaries (particularly the bits he wrote in a mixture of Latin, Greek, French, Spanish, and anything else that came to mind) to demonstrate what a thoroughly reprehensible person he was

Tea was brought to me from the Turkish place
Consumption thereof was accompanied by Kingdom on iPlayer, being the final episode apart from the inevitable “making of” one

Afternoon denizens
After yesterday’s gloomy grey skies, today it’s sunny - though somewhat attenuated from time to time by wisps and sheets of very thin, high cloud. The relatively open sky has let the temperature drop a bit: it’s currently on today’s high of 8°C, though even that “feels like” 3°. The barometers are back up to 1012/1020mB

Blue skies are back. Currently 4 degrees with a high of 9 expected. Cloud cover set to increase as the day progresses. Barometer up to 1029 mBar.

Decided to trace the director of a company whose post keeps coming to my address and ask them if they'd be so kind as to inform their creditors that they don't operate from it. I suspect I'll get either nothing or a load of abuse back. They're some kind of performing arts person with quite the list of credits but their registered office is some golfing activity centre. All very suss.
