Scrambled Maps is confirmed as non-functional in Firefox v143.01. They think it's a bug in Firefox that will sort itself out with a future update, so have no plans to try to figure out what's going on as the console is giving zero clues. Oddly, they tested it in the daily challenge and it works fine there.

They also told me about a new development that they're toying with. Testing some real-time multiplayer code that they've currently made into a battleships game: https://labs.tripgeo.com/battleships/game.html not tried it out yet as I'm going to bed.

I finished The Andromeda Anthology, and have enjoyed it greatly. I did wonder about the advisability of having the story continue after A for Andromeda but I now wholeheartedly approve, which I'm sure would be a great comfort to the authors if they were still alive

Lots of meetings tomorrow, with most of them being ones where I just have to sit and listen. I should take up crochet or something for days like that

      Goodnight all

          Morning.

          Wednesday apparently.

          Grey.

          Sunless.

          Drizzly.

          Damp.

          Dreary.

Chilly in here at 17.7 deg, 17 in the kitchen, 16 in the leanto.

1021 mBar, 30.15 in Hg, 765.8 Torr, 14.808 psi, (unchanged), 59% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 20th of February 2020 Brillo popped in. A lot. WTFH was emptying 2L of water out of the buckets in the loft and anticipating the spring under the house opening up if the rain continued, whilst LM found it windy at clientco, and NF had a sausage bap for lunch.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the grey gloom: took umbrella so no rain or drizzle.

Lunch: brunch. Reminded to take my vits.

Entertainment: thing about antibiotics. Noon o'clock news. Y&Y.

          Tea: fish.

Entertainment: Maigret. The Xmas special ep.

            Morning all

Overcast but dry. Currently 13 degrees with a high of 18 expected. Chance of a light shower sometime mid-morning to mid-afternoon. Might brighten up towards the end of the day. Barometer up to 1028 mbar.

In today's catch up with other ConsultancyCo, they're still hopeful for lots of work next year and repeated they are expecting to need me full time. Which is nice. I calculate that the PO with main ConsultancyCo will be used up on Christmas Eve, if I don't have any days off, which works out neatly.

More blood test results arrived overnight. I'm low on vitamins D and B12.

Gave local history group leader a lift to "meet up" at a pub. Just her and me there, she had obviously left it too late to let members know. Book reading this afternoon, ain't managed to get further than 20 pages in any of the 3 books I've tried. All boring!

Sardine toasties (olive oil kind) for lunch

Brightened up a bit here now

                  Ah, we're back!

Seems to have been a DNS problem, in that the forum subdomain no longer existed in the global DNS records

                  Now where were we…

Tea yesterday was a nice fry-up

This was accompanied by the rest of the NEW! Police Interceptors from Tuesday

And later, keeping on with the Andromeda theme, I started reading The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton, which was of course made into an excellent film

Moving on to today: it's cloudy but with thin patches allowing for brighter intervals, though no direct sunshine that I've seen. Currently 17°C with 18° due shortly; the barometers are down at 1009/1017mB

Lunch has been a turkey bap (white)

And I'm off to get my flu jab at 14:00

Was beginning to think the hamster had died again.

                    Morning Afternoon.

                    Thursday.

                    Grey etc.

Walk (towpath, unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom.

                    Lunch: brunch.

1014.5 mBar, down from 1019.5 last night.

Entertainment: the antibiotic thing. Who'd have thunk that feeding farm animals on antibiotics would be A Bad Idea?

Meanwhile on the page for 20th of February 2020 BR14 & Brillo chased an OM.

Shopping trip to B&Q. The bus down almost made one think of Replacement Theory, some of the passengers being rather noisy. The bus back, not quite so much.

Bought yet another £1 B&Q orange bucket since I only had one carrier and it was 50% cheaper than a Tesco carrier bag for life. .

Fine selection of druggies in Neath as I walked home.

                    I'd execute the lot.

Some of the purchases from B&Q duly installed despite the oncoming rain: managed to finish the job before the deluge started.

Tea: beans on toast etc. Nice enough.

Entertainment: PM. King Arthur's Britain: Alice Roberts doing her thing again: must have watched this at least 4 or 5 times.

Probably Discovering Jason Robards. Then Foyle's War.

                      Afternoon all

Started off misty. Overcast all day but the bright kind. Currently 18 degrees and that's the high for the day. Barometer down to 1022 mBar.

                      Sunrise 07:04; Sunset 18:36 BST.

I was beginning to think the new PTB had decided to bin off the forum rather than pay NF to fix it.

                      Much laundry done this morning.

I chanced a tin of pilchards in tomato sauce with a BBE of January 2022. They didn't taste very nice so a chicken salad sandwich was had instead.

This evening I'm off to the theatre to see The Weir at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
