    Morning denizens

Ended up having a sleep in, for which much thanks! It's a grey day out with evidence of rain, or at least a shower, earlier. There was a brief sunny spell about twenty minutes ago but that was shut down very quickly. It's 14°C and aiming to reach 17°, so maybe quite mild for the time of year? Anyway, that's how it'll continue for the rest of the week, maybe even a bit warmer some days. The barometers are much the same at 1008/1016mB

I've just put the two-thirds duvet in the washing machine, now with some detergent suitable for down-filled items. Once it's washed, it'll probably take much of the day to gently dry it completely, if my experience with the one-third one the other week is any guide

        Afternoon all

Dull, overcast, wet. It's that fine 'mizzle' type rain. Currently 16 degrees with a high of 17 possible. There may be a hint of sun late afternoon. Barometer at 1020 mBar.

        Sunrise 06:57; Sunset 18:45 BST

Long lie in. Didn't go to visit Mum. Reminded my brother to book flu jabs. Debating whether to leave the house to fetch more lemsips and other alleged symptom relieving chemicals. Will see if the rain stops in the next hour.

One thing I do find frustrating is Sunday trading hours. They don't have such restrictions north of the wall.

I do wash my duvets. The winter one has to go to launderette but the little summer one fits in the WM. Ideally I aim wash them around the time of changing them over so they go into storage all nice and clean. But I don't do it every time. It depends on whether I think they could do with a proper freshen up or if a good airing on a sunny day out in the garden for a few hours would suffice instead.

Lunch: a sausage bap (white) again, as the rest of the sausages needed to be cooked. Still very nice, and there's a couple of cold sausages for lunch later in the week

This was accompanied by an Apple Developer video. I'd been mucking around working out how to get useful debug information out of RealityKit, but it turns out there's an excellent RealityKit debugger built into Xcode!

I haven't either, or hadn't until I washed the one-third one the other week! But my researches indicated that the two-thirds one (9 tog, I think) is just about within the limits of what the machine (which has a nominal capacity of 8kg wash and 5kg dry) can handle so I thought I'd give it a go

The washing succeeded and the drying is going well. As expected, it'll take a while though. The "Down-filled items" programme doesn't do any automatic assessment of how dry the stuff is like most of them; you have to set a duration. They recommend starting with a fairly short duration and checking after each run, to work out how long a particular item takes. Currently, we're in the third hour for this duvet and I suspect it'll take at least one more, and maybe even longer. With the one-third one, I didn't dry it enough initially, and sleeping under a slightly damp and clammy duvet is very unpleasant so I'll try to get this one right

I gave the duvet an extra half-hour, so 3½ hours total, and I think it may be done! It feels properly dry for the most part but there are some bits that still feel slightly damp, probably because they were folded into the middle or something. So I've taken it out and draped it over the clotheshorse, in the hall near the radiator. I'm hoping that airing will now be enough for the last bits of damp, which really are very slight, to dry out

                  Tea has been Turkish leftovers

To go with this, a further episode of the Netflix thing about people in London and its environs being hideously injured then patched back up

Didn't do much today, but I watched a few Apple Developer videos to get a better idea of all the moving parts in RealityKit, and how they're supposed to fit together

Monday again tomorrow. It's sprint end/start week so there'll be lots of meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday; tomorrow will probably just be finishing off what we've been working on - though there's a good chance the other dev will have already done that when she was left in peace on Friday

                    Goodnight all

                      Morning denizens

It's a sunny start with a clear blue sky, though apparently that'll all go to pot by about 9am and it'll be cloudy, or at least partly cloudy, for the rest of the day. Cool start at 6°C but it'll soar all the way to 16° later. The barometers are already soaring, being up to 1014/1022mB
