Tea has been chicken in red wine sauce with chips and peas

This was accompanied by a bit more Trucking Hell. Only one new episode left after this, I believe

Mahjong this morning then boring shopping followed by drop in at ll2's to deliver her lime juice. Lucky with weather as usual, no rain on walk, went into Sainsburies and still no rain when I came out but it had clearly been chucking it down while I was in there.

Tonight's major motion picture was The Departed (2006), which I first watched a few years back but didn't remember very well. It's good

And then another Rumpole story. I shall be getting to the end of those soon - well, the ones in this volume; I'm not sure I'll bother going to the trouble of finding the rest, entertaining as they are

        Goodnight all

          Morning all
CBS, etc, autumnally cool. A very pleasant walk has been had - even if the road is closed, they still left a gap for me to walk past with Max.

          TFIF, etc.
Heading back up to the old stomping ground this evening for the weekend. I think Max will enjoy running on the hills.

            Morning all

Blue sky with occasional lumps of fluff wafting past. Currently 14 degrees with a high of 17 expected. There may be showers this afternoon / early evening. Barometer up to 1010 mBar.

            Sunrise 06:32; Sunset 19:22 BST

Despite taking a while to get to sleep, I ended up sleeping uninterrupted until my alarm and then proceeded to doze through the radio alarm until it switched itself off. I then dozed off and on for a while longer before finally getting out of bed. It was about 9.15 am before I sat at my desk.

              Morning.

              Friday.

              Grey.

              Sunny.

              Blue sky.

              Cloudy.

              Dry.

              Torrential.

Cooler in here at 17.9 deg, 18 in the kitchen, 17 in the leanto.

1003 mBar, 29.62 in Hg, 752.3 Torr, 14.55 psi, (up from 999.5 last night), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 15th of February 2020 AndyGarbs, Anonimouse, Scruff and BR14 popped in, I had an unusual way of turning off Nish Kumar on the wireless, xogg was preparing for a power cut by laying a fire and finding the gas burner, whilst NF noted that the shops across the way, aside from the Polish cafe, were closing early due to the inclemency of the weather, wind wise, while STIV was finished with, onwards to Highlander II, the ruination.

Amazingly enough, despite waking at 06:30, sleep returned & final awakening occurred at 08:50. Quite satisfying.

Oh, and looking out of the window, the full on murrain of beasts is currently heading up the valley.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: the Food programme. The 11:45 thing. Green crap about environmentally friendly steel production. Should go <click> fairly promptly.

Freecell score: 83%, running average: 84%.

              Someone finked out the shooter.

Tea: Mr Brains faggots with peas etc.

              Entertainment: the statistics thing, PM.

                Morning denizens

It's a cloudy day out, and judging by the undulations of the sycamore it's also quite windy. The current 14°C "feels like" 9°, apparently, and presumably the expected high of 16° won't feel much better. The barometers are back up a bit at 996/1004mB

I'd noticed my feet getting a bit cold over the last few nights so I chucked one of the furry throws over the bed last night, that being easier than digging out the two-thirds duvet. Result: feet not cold. I suppose I should go to the trouble of getting that duvet out as a longer term solution, but that'll do for now

With no shopping to do, I'm planning to do a bit of sorting out of some stuff around the flat. For a start, various things that have ended up adjacent to radiators will have to be moved, thrown out, or taken to the tip. I had wondered if I could make it to the Autumnal Equinox before putting the heating back on, but the forecast for the next week has me thinking it might be going on sooner

                  Today's meeting has been done.

Laundry has been done - smalls and tops. All draped over the airer. Now onto jeans.

'Brunch' is a slice of toast with an egg on top.

I always find this interesting. My heating is never 'off'. There's a temperature set and should the flat drop below that, then the heating comes on. This means it's cold out. The past two mornings, the heating has been on when I've gotten up.

All this nonsense about deciding whether to heat a home by the date rather than the weather is beyond me.

Volunteer litter picky thing this morning, loony lady 1 walk later. Lucky with weather yet again, nice and bright until I got into the car when it started pouring down. Finished just before I got home. Can't be coincidence, the weather god likes me, unlike the traffic god.
