Was spending ages every morning looking at me mappy thing to decide where to go for a walk. Now made a thing in Excel to decide for me. Draws a random straight line on the map with 2,5,10,15 and 20 miles from home pinned. Made a good choice today, little Excel thing.
I wasn't sure what to have for tea, but then I remembered I still had a couple of chilli lamb burgers in the freezer, so it was one of those in a sesame bap with ketchup, and fries
To accompany it, I watched part one of The Moors Murders: A Search for Justice on iPlayer. Not particularly cheerful stuff, but it's interesting that "lost" paperwork from the 1960s is still coming to light
That's Careless People finished, and if there's one thing you can say for Zuckerberg and his cronies, it's that they never stop finding ways to become even more evil than they already were
As to the obvious question of why she kept working there after she'd realised how bad they were: as usual in the USA, it comes down to health insurance. She ended up in a coma and was within a whisker of dying from complications during the birth of her second child, and after that she had ongoing serious, even potentially fatal, health issues; and the capitalists just love it when you have to keep doing their dirty work because the alternative is bankruptcy and death
Anyway, a very interesting book, though it's hard to get to the end with it still in one piece because there's so much in there that makes you so raging mad, you want to hurl it across the room
Thursday tomorrow! Freedom (at least for a few weeks) at teatime!
Grey and rainy start, though it's expected to dry up soon. There may even be a little sunshine this evening! The cloud seems to be in blanket mode, as it's already 17°C with an expected high of 22°. The barometers, meanwhile, have shuffled down a bit to 1004/1012mB
Thursday! Last day of work until after the August Bank Holiday!
Morning all
Overcast and humid with "thunderstorm warning" for 10:00-18:00. Started spitting on our walk, but didn't amount to much and still managed 10,000 steps.
Month end, so I may have to book out most of this afternoon to doing timesheets etc.
Cool in here at 21.8 deg, 23 deg in the kitchen, 22 in the leanto.
1011 mBar, 29.85 in Hg, 758.3 Torr, 14.66 psi, (down from 1012 last night), 72% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 4th of February 2020 I watched ST: First Contact. You've just gotta love those Titan II missiles, man, NF popped in, BR14 popped in, WTFH wasn't watching the Orange Micropenised Moron, and LM had lost 1.4kg due to being not very well.
Freecell score: 100%, running average: 83%.
Lunch: brunch.
Entertainment: the photography thing: today: mugshots.
Now wondering what to do with the afternoon. . So much to do , so little time to do it. .
Just looked at The Middle of Lidl, always fatal when there Parkside tools on offer. . Some of which I haven't bought twice or three times before. Particularly the sharpening stones. Though the flux cored wire welder thing looks inneresting. And it's a lot smaller than the MIG welder that's sat in the garage unused for knocking on for 30 years (actually 30.5 IIRC).
Defrosting the fridge: I may be some time. .
House roughly vacced.
Book. Other other book.
Tea: beans on toast etc. Nice enough.
Entertainment: PM <click>
Stone me there's a lot of ice in the fridge. About 10L so far. And it's still going.
Fridge duly deiced.
Entertainment: Sky Arts: Discovering Jeff Bridges.
Sunny. Currently 29 degrees with a high of 33 expected. Thunderstorm warnings but none forecast in the local vicinity. Barometer down to 1017 mBar.
Sunrise 07:11; Sunset 21:30 CEST
HWMBO and I are mooching about Madrid city centre for a couple of hours and having lunch time tapas before heading to the airport this afternoon for our trip home.
It's brightening up a bit here with some hazy blue patches appearing
I can't decide whether to go shopping this evening, or leave it until tomorrow. Might be nice to get it out of the way, but it might also be nice to just unwind a bit
It's new Viz day, so there's that to be taken into account too
