After yesterday's record 08:35, today's awakening was 06:20 with a dream of some exam or other and an essay.

    Morning.

    Tuesday apparently <checks clock>

    Damply dry.

Sunny when I looked out of the window: grey now.

Cooler in here at 18.8 deg, 19 in the kitchen, 17 in the leanto.

1008 mBar, 29.766 in Hg, 756 Torr, 14.62 psi, (down from 1009.5 last night), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 14th of February 2020 AndyGarbs, Brillo, and vetran popped in, LM was having difficulties with HWMBO distributing drying washing around the flat thusly disturbing The System, whilst NF was also doing washing, and I was failing at Freecell and also doing washing.

Freecell score: 82%, running average: 84%.

Walk (towpath, unabbreviated) walked. It was sprinkling with a touch of light rain towards the end, so I obviously timed that about right.

The canal is now full: the sluices are allowing the excess water to flow gently into the river.

All that nasty green scum has gone and the water is looking much fresher than it was.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about where do you buy your clothes? <click>.

Freecell score: 88%, running average: 84%.

    Tea: soup etc.

    Entertainment: PM.

Dial 999 "Down to the sea" (1958).

The mind of Mr J.G. Reeder: "The stealer of marble (1969)".

      Morning denizens

Sunny start, but not going to be as warm as that might suggest: currently a mere 11°C, and though it's expected to reach 20°, that's only for a brief spell mid-afternoon. The barometers are up a little at 1004/1012mB

        Morning all

Sunny with not a wisp to be seen. Currently 12 degrees with a high of 19 expected. Will cloud over as the day progresses. Barometer steady at 1016 mBar still.

        Sunrise 06:27; Sunset 19:29 BST

Builders in the back garden today fixing the wall the (now ex) tree was pushing out of its way. Initially the builder wanted to take the whole wall down and rebuild it. Now I think they're kind of pushing it back into position and putting some ties across. Maybe. Lots of banging going on at the moment.

In other news, feeling heaps better today. Hurray. That's a boring topic now come to an end.

Lunch has been a ham toastie

The white loaf had turned out exceptionally well, lovely and light throughout. And it toastifies beautifully into a really nice crisp, but not hard, shell

In other news, I finally remembered to ask about the exemption I'd sought from the requirement to spend 40% of the working week in the office, and I got it! Take that, proponents of good health; heart disease causing an increased risk of harm from Covid (and other transmissible diseases) FTW!

Oh gawd. Knock on door and went to find an emergency ambulance outside. Wrong house, me lady neighbour must be having problems yet again.

To watch with this, the Gloucestershire police night shift programme, or rather the first half of an episode thereof. They're chasing suspected burglars along the disused railway line in Cheltenham, now a cycle and foot path, that I used to walk along to get from the station back to the town centre when I had a gig in Bromsgrove whilst living there

The builders knocked a big whole in the wall, taking the existing bricks out and cleaning them up. Then started rebuilding it. I reckon the wall will be done tomorrow and then it'll need a render a coat of paint.

At least they had a good day for it.
