    Lunch: a Sainsbury's steak slice

    Quite Simpsonesque out now

      Tea: shepherd's pie

Accompanied by the unmotorway cops and dash cam thing

Nice evening out. I see it'll be all change for the long weekend though

Old fart walk ok today. At least we didn't end up in Glasgow this time. Sunday date arranged with loony lady 4.

Yea olde jalopy didn't come home this evening. One of the parts ordered turned out to be the wrong part and the supplier said, "oh we don't sell the one you want".

When having a look at what they'd previously diagnosed as the fault, another mechanic said they didn't think it was a correct diagnosis so they have tried something else that doesn't need parts to be ordered, thus saving me money. If my issue persists then at least they tried the cheap fix first.

Another part ordered was also incorrectly supplied and that's coming tomorrow, so the garage kept the car rather than me trek to and fro for no good reason.

I got some more work done on the Swift app; mostly tidying things up, and improvements to the Xcode Previews that will make it easier to move on from here. It's about at the point where it can be considered a working prototype, so now I have to decide how I actually want it to function as a real thing. Lots of thinking about the UI it needs lies ahead, I reckon

And I read a bit more of Porno

            Thursday tomorrow!

Though I need to pop over the park to the GPs' surgery in the afternoon for the annual round of blood tests

            Goodnight all

              Morning all
There’s a few clouds here, even one looking a bit ominous over towards Palma, but blue skies overhead.

                Morning denizens

Grey start again here and while yesterday brightened up a lot quite quickly, today doesn't promise any such thing until this evening. It's 9°C now and only expected to reach 14°, so it's distinctly cooler too. The barometers are up a touch though, at 1007/1015mB

                Thursday! And a four-day weekend!

Must remember the appointment at the doctor's this afternoon though. I'm also trying to decide whether I need to go to Sainsbury's, or if I'd be better off using up as much as possible of what's in the freezer in the name of stock rotation

                  Morning all

Blue sky and dry. Currently 10 degrees with a high of 14 expected. Cloud cover set to increase as the day progresses with a chance of rain mid afternoon. Barometer up to 1018 mBar.

                  Sunrise 05:00; Sunset 20:57 BST

HWMBO returned from Amsterdam yesterday evening. Then was up early for a call with a potential client in Australia (sadly the work will be in UK/Europe).

I had irritable legs and a headache reducing the quality of my sleep and I am not in the mood for the 9 am meeting coming up.

                    Morning.

                    Thursday.

                    Sunny.

                    Blue sky.

                    Dry.

Cool in here at 18.2 deg, 18.5 in the kitchen, 16 in the leanto.

1013.5 mBar, 29.92 in Hg, 760.2 Torr, 14.6995 psi, (unchanged but a tad), 62% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 17th of January 2020 LM popped in, Brillo popped in, BR14 popped in, I watched the end of "Apaloosa" and was unimpressed, whereas NF watched all three "Back to the Future" offerings. Where's my Home Fusion Generator, that's what I want to know.

                    Washing frenzy in progress.

Another 3 4 early purple/marsh orchids spotted in next door's lawn. I've obviously been mowing them for years until the flower spikes showed this year. Who'd have thunk?

Walk (abbreviated) walked in the unbearable heat: clout definitely cast this morning, the May being well & truly gone.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: some chap on Y&Y waffling on about Fell Audio. Sliced Bread was about The Change of Life and magic pills to aid with same. I'd have thunk it made sense to interchange the subjects or the presenters but what do I know?

It'll be iRoning time shortly. .

That requiring the iRon has received its attention & is airing upstairs. The remainder is still on the line.

Next: more potching in the garage, which, since it involved wood glue and a clamp, didn't take very long at all. Which was good because it's a bit hot in there today.

Dunno if wood glue sticks to two part wood filler* but we shall find out tomorrow: either with weeping & gnashing of teeth, or with quiet satisfaction at a job almost done.

*Apparently it did but some screws gave it a bit of a hand, like. . Belt and braces that's me. .

Tea: beans on toast with cheese and a scrambled egg. Nice enough.

                    Entertainment: PM. <click>.

Classic Movies: Scott of the Antarctic (1948). Goodness me, Scott's ship's cat shared a name with Guy Gibson's dog.

The 9 am meeting was brief, thank goodness.

More coffee has been drunk and some toast eaten.

I've got a bit of a conundrum with timings this afternoon. A meeting 3 - 4 pm. Another meeting at 6 pm. Car collection to be done by 5.30 pm. Meeting a friend near Tottenham Court Road at 6 pm. Theatre at 7.30 pm.

I'll skip the 6 pm meeting, and just listen to the recording tomorrow. I am hoping the car will be ready for collection earlier rather than later.
