Thought I'd get a quote from the Nissan stealership for a part I need for my car, to compare against another quote I had from a 'car air conditioning specialist'. After waiting an age for the phone to be answered, the person took a load of information and then said they couldn't put me through to the parts department to get a quote. So that was a waste of time. However, there's a number of Nissan stealerships around here so I phoned another one that was more parts and servicing, rather than sales, focussed and it turns out Nissan have discontinued that part for my car. My car is only 21 years old.

Parts for my Orion seemed to become harder to find after it hit 20 or so, so I suspect they only keep parts around for about that long after a model is discontinued. On the bright side, somebody or other will probably have picked up their remaining stock and eBayed it

Turned out nice this afternoon.

I have been trying to get a prescription filled for HWMBO today. One of the drugs he needs is on a national shortage and nowhere seems to have any spare stock lying about. There's still a few more pharmacies to try so I haven't given up yet. However, come Monday he'll be out and that won't be good.

But it is nice that all the pharmacists I've spoken to have said "you do know you have to pay for this; it's only free in Scotland?" Sadly HWMBO couldn't get his prescriptions sorted before he had to leave bonny Scotland so he's resigned to not even being allowed to get a prepayment certificate to get a fiver off.
