I didn't need a big tea after the breakfast for lunch, so I just had a few KFC hot wings and popcorn chicken bits, with ketchup

There's a strawberry cream cake in the fridge too. Mustn't let that go to waste

This evening's viewing was the latest episode of 24 Hours in A&E

And I finished reading Trainspotting this afternoon. So this evening I started on Story of a Murder: The Wives, the Mistress and Doctor Crippen, the new book by Hallie Rubenhold

      No work tomorrow!

      Goodnight all

        Morning denizens

        Bank Holiday!

It's a grey sort of day, as befits the occasion. 9°C now, only getting to 13°, and some rain expected later - just showers by the look of things. The barometers have tiptoed down one more step to 996/1004mB

          Morning.

          Monday.

          Damp.

          Grey.

          Sunless.

Chilly in here at 15.3 deg, 15 in the kitchen, 14 in the leanto.

1005 mBar, 29.6776 in Hg, 753.8 Torr, 14.576 psi, (up from 1003 last night), 61% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 10th of January 2020 there was some sort of astronomical thing going on with the moon: clouded out around here and NF didn't notice anything strange, though it looked immense as it rose, apparently, Brillo and Scruff popped in, and I discovered that "The Revenge of the Pink Panther" was missing from the box set I'd bought in 2015 and had just started viewing.

Oh Dear, How Sad, Never Mind: as I went out for my walk this morning I noticed that next door's rambling rose has blown off the fence & is now rambling all over the front garden path. Someone will need to sort it out. And that ain't me. .

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine, spotted with rain on the way up but then it cleared up and the sun shone upon the righteous.

          Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about the Parking Nazis. I'm glad I don't drive any more. TWATO with one topic for 43.5 minutes.

More cleaning of the hall, involving moving bookcases, dusting & polishing said bookcases, then putting them back whence they came. Which, disturbingly, seems to have left holes empty of books that weren't there earlier. Very odd.

Cup of coffee due to exhaustion at all the effort involved.

Moved the tower of cardboard boxes that are full of books or tools or other stuff. Feck me, there's a lot. Found the Japanese pull saw that I had feeling I'd bought: the feeling being correct. And a shedload of other stuff I'd long forgotten. There's a box half full of RS (Radio Spares as was) tag strips: more than I'll ever need: all from Ye Olde Sloughe of Desponde where they were presumably used for some long forgotten project build by the Esteemed Customers of yore.

Tea: Tesco 3 bean chilli con carne & pilau rice. Nice enough.

Entertainment: PM. One topic. Just like TWATO.

Dead foxy has left the lawn. Was beginning to bloat.

"Masters of ReInvention" on Yesterday: a tribute of sorts to F. J. Camm (brother of the rather more famous Sydney (Hawker Hurricane etc.)) and Camm's Comics: this one being "Practical Mechanics". It's not gripping me at the minute. .

"Shed and buried" on Quest: hotrod V8. Oh. I'd forgotten how much I dislike one of the presenters.

Skinwalker Ranch. Hopefully not another fecking clip show. Drilling holes. Not stunningly inneresting really.

Beyond Skinwalker Ranch. Some "demon" infested ranch near Taos NM. Definitely weird: dog died, horse died, husband died, other dog died, cat died, woman legged it out & has never been back. Whatever it was, they poked it with a 55Hz audio signal & woke something up. Then they shot a rocket & woke it up again. Then, very wisely, they high tailed it outa there. The remote viewers, all 55 of them, reckoned it was bad juju.

Bit of "Silence of the Lambs".

Turned out the shed & buried guy was on again, this time with a different stooge, hence: <click>. Not as irritating as the fat git on Wheeler Dealers but I still don't want to watch his programme.

Stone me I've got a lot of screwdrivers. I'll never need to buy any more. Ever.

And I've found even more since. Must never go to Lidl ever again.

            Morning all

Cloudy but reasonably bright. Signs of damp on the pavement from overnight precipitation, I presume. There may be some rain today. Barometer up a smidge to 1009 mBar.

            Sunrise 05:53; Sunset 20:08 BST

Rubbish sleep. Still have coff and snotties. Heading down to see Mum anyway. I am unlikely to stay for very long today.

Breakfast today was a cold bacon and chipolata butty with yesterday's leftovers. Then lunch was the rest of the leftover KFC hot wings. And tea has been the last leftover bits of KFC. So no cooking (apart from a bit of reheating in the air fryer) at all

And tea was accompanied by an episode of The Repair Shop

More of Story of a Murder read, and I'm starting to think this Crippen chap is not all a doctor should be - though he's a homeopath, so in that respect he isn't. Anyway, he's arrived in London, where he's working for a snake oil millionaire establishing a homeopathy business on Shaftesbury Avenue. Funnily enough, it was in the building that used to house Angel's theatrical costumers and fancy dress shop, a couple of doors down from where Yahoo! was when I was contracting there. Odd to think that Dr. Crippen presumably went to work by the same route as me, at least for the last hundred yards or so from Cambridge Circus

Early night now so I can be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for my birthday tomorrow!

                      Happy birthday Nick!

CBS, but a bit of mist around. Woke up coughing an hour ago. Time for a walk.
