Giving a new medical documentary a try. Trauma Room One on Channel 5.
So far (10 mins in) it's less focussed on patient stories and more on the medical procedures, which I quite like. Will see if they do the human interest malarkey towards the end of the episode.
It did remind me that some consultants are not called "Dr". Is there something they don't do after getting their medical degree which means they don't get that?Comment

Mildly annoying that the author keeps referring to them aiming for "the Atlantic coast" though. I think he's referring to the larger goal of conquering France, but it would have made sense to use "the Channel coast" or "the North Sea coast" in the context of this particular offensive. He's German, so he doesn't have the excuse of being American and not knowing where anything is

Meanwhile on the 1st of October 2019 NF had chicken bits in breadcrumbs for lunch, I though all the freeview sets & set top boxes were fecked until the :lightbulb: moment when I retuned them all to find that fixed 'em, returning the 144 channels of tulip to choose from, whereas WTFH was awaiting some surgery, and there was some discussion of why certain places have "Brook" in their placenames & the dire consequences thereof.
I related the story of The Flooded Gardens of 1991, and I realised a couple of days ago that the water concerned was contaminated with sewage since at that time the sewer fed raw & untreated into the Llantwit Brook before passing under the canal into the river, or at least it did until that culvert was blocked. There's a pumping station there now that was installed in 1996 IIRC.
Fridge duly cleaned behind, cleaned inside, cleaned underneath, reassembled, reprovisioned & back in place. Knackered now. Memo to self: maybe doing it every 3 months might be quicker..
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom: it's chilly out there today. Nearly needed a scarf & gloves..
Lunch: baked spud etc.

Much cleaning of the leanto, upsetting many spiders. Even cleaned the lampshade (Wilko, el cheapo, £4 IIRC) which was looking rather grim, but some of the cillit bang crap hygiene & bleach served to make it look almost like a new piece of crap rather than a 10 year old piece of crap.
I think there's a leak in the roof.

Dull, overcast. Not raining. The sun might make an appearance after lunchtime. Currently 14 degrees with a high of 18 expected. Barometer up to 1014 mBar.
Lots of viewings this afternoon. Saw a lovely flat yesterday but, on reflection, it wasn't right for me. The kitchen had hardly any storage and I really hate open plan kitchen / living rooms. I think that has become the one thing I refuse to compromise on. Also noticed that the flat I missed out on earlier in the month is still being advertised. I have a couple of viewings booked with that agent today so will find out why that is. Today I have six viewings across the Ealing area. I really hope one of them is worth going for.Comment

Kind of busy today, but it's a frustrating kind of busy, trying to ask people for what we need so they can explain to other people and so on down the line, until finally a response comes back which is clearly to a different question. That and fixing stuff other people have broken because it's quicker than explaining what they broke and getting them to fix it
Anyway, in the midst of all this nonsense, lunch - so, so long ago it seems - was a fish finger bap (wholemeal) with ketchup

Off to Not-Big-Enough Sainsbury's, where it transpired that the self-scan handsets were all offline
As I wasn't in the mood for scanning loads of stuff while being harangued about bagging areas by some robot, I grabbed the barest minimum of stuff I needed and left, spending just over £12 in total
Turns out they don't even sell Viz there, the new (last week) issue of which was one of my primary intended purchases. I'll have to find time to go to the big one instead
