    Morning.

    Dry.

    Sunless.

    Grey sky with blue bits.

    21.8 deg in here.

    1020 mBar, 30.12 in Hg, 70% RH.

Thursday apparently, though I felt it should be Friday, apparently it isn't, so yet another meaningless day to get through.

Walk walked during which one of my fly swats broke.

    Now sunny with CBS.

Lunch: poached tomato and scrambled egg on Morrisons sunflower and pumpkin seed toast (crust, thick), blackcurrant (last of) jam on same, red corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Vac duly pressed into half hearted use to reduce the level of filth just a little.

Engineering Disasters proved to be one I hadn't seen multiple times before at 13:00, whereas the one at 14:00 seems to be on every day.

The Repair Shop, on the other hand, was so inneresting that vaccing was preferable.

    Freecell score: 93%, running average 84% (84.03%).

    The current Engineering Disasters: Thresher.

The Liberty Ships propensity to split in half: cold embrittlement.

Andrea Doria liner hit by the Stockholm cargo ship.

    California dam collapse.

    The 1965 NY power blackout.

Tea: the last portion of chilli con carne with rice, some stewed gooseberries and custard, a couple of yogs passt their BBE, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

    Entertainment: Discovering Vincent Price.

    Secret Nazi Bases on Yesterday.

Skin A&E on 5*: more pustulent goodness.

      Morning

Meeting number 3 nearly finished. At least people aren't having a "heated discussion" in this one.

Suppose to be warm outside. I don't know as I nipped out at 8.20am to empty the bins and water some pots but that's it.

Lunch was 50 spicy chicken wings, 4 portions of fried and a bottle of pepsi. From KFC in France. Junk, but so good sometimes.

I don't mind a frank exchange of views if they are valid.

Currently it seems like "Recording which of the 500 objects multiple teams are working on and their status is 'too much effort'" is the considered view of many.

Strange because last time we did it you IM'd me every time someone wanted a status update (many times a day) even though its not me working on it.
Clue - I am not the flaming PM!

Lunch has been ham, pea and lentil soup with multiseed bread. Very nice

                Still grey but warm here

A bit tricky to manage: part of it is documenting a thing that gets built a lot to move data around various things, but everybody ends up working out how to do it from scratch because nobody's ever written a document that explains how to make and join up all the pieces. So unless you've done it, as I just have, you don't know what needs documenting in the first place.

And the stuff I wrote up this morning is just documenting my code (a tiny part of the above) which itself does such recondite things that it'd take a sub forever just to understand how it works, never mind why. In fact, two weeks ago, I would have been unable to work out what on earth it was up to

But it achieves the impossible, and that's all they wanted, so I don't mind documenting that bit so future developers can marvel at my skillz

Trip to Heathrow and back done to have another stick shoved up my nose. Should get the result by midnight, after which I will be FREEEEEEEE!

                    I hope.

I wonder if rule 34 applies here - is there a corner on pornhub for Covid tests? Strange such thoughts always make me smile.
