I couldn't be arsed going into town, so I phoned Orange and they said that if I texted SIM to whatever number, one would magically wing its way to me in 3 working days. So I did, and got a text back telling me what the valid things to text were - SIM wasn't one of them. So will see if one turns up. Or not. The whole 3G / 4G thing has confused me too.
