Dammit. I have to go into the office tomorrow.

Arty thing this morning then a haircut, 1st I've had in, dunno, ages. Not been for walk yet, too hot.
Where is atw? Need his advice. Where have all the squirrels gone? Normally see quite a few on me walks but not seen any for ages this summer.bloggoth

Tea has been the last of the chilli lamb burgers in a sesame seed bap with ketchup, and fries
To watch along with this, and continuing now because it's quite long: Storyville - Dogs of War on iPlayer, being the story of a bloke whose career ranged from safecracker to mercenary to arms dealer, and who seems relatively unrepentant about any of it. Fascinating stuff; he's just been lucky enough to get blown up in Angola and flown out shortly before his commander "Colonel Callan" went mad (or madder) and started executing his own men. So now he's back in London and at a loose end, he's joining a plot to assassinate the president of TogoComment

Just back from a late local walk. Past sunset but it's still horribly warm and humid.bloggoth

Well, that thing with the retired mercenary became even stranger, if anything. A remarkable, if not particularly laudable, life
The story in Project Hail Mary continues to develop in unexpected but satisfying and enjoyable ways
Bit warm, innit? Currently 26.3° in my bedroom

Morning all
Misty this morning, in fact it might even be considered mizzle.
Didn't sleep well, I'll blame the humidity, but then didn't get out of bed until about 5:50, so a curtailed walk wasn't even 10,000 steps.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Morning.
Actually Wednesday apparently.
Grey.
Sunless.
Dry.
Looks like November.
Warmer side of cool in here at 22.7 deg, 24 in the kitchen, 22 in the leanto.
1017 mBar, 30.03 in Hg, 762.8 Torr, 14.75 psi, (up from 1016 last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 7th of February 2020 opm was off out to the Fleetwood beer festival later on, Brillo popped in, NF was doing the washing, I'd done my washing & by the time I went out for a walk it was raining, so came back after 200 yards, whereas LM took an anklebiter to get some presents, then returned home in time to pretend to be working late on a Friday afternoon. WTFH found that the snow in Memphis had mostly melted.
Two big blips on the power. Hope I don't have to reset the bedroom clock again.
Walk (tow path) walked in the grey gloom.
Amazingly met David who used to mow the lawns back in the day. He's in his 90s & was strimming the grass in St Anne's in Tonna.
Actually had 3 conversations today. That's at least 3 more than normal.
Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: Y&Y scam day. <click> My tinnitus. Drugs of hallucination.
Book. Vannevar Bush gets a mention. I discovered the other day that his name is pronounced Vann Eva. Who'd have thunk? Then again who in their right mind would call a kid that in the first place? Then again, there's a woman in NM whose name is pronounced Why Von Eee.
Minor potching with some kit was I played with a preselector idea for a radio. It didn't work.
It's as grey as an's arse out there but it's still as humid as a gorilla's armpit.
Tea: Tesco battered haddock. Nice enough. Almost more cooking than I can be arsed with these days.
Entertainment: PM. <click>. Much on the Orange Micropenised Moron, someone too stupid to know that Putin is laughing at him.
Maigret and the little pigs without tails (2003).
Foyle's Cold War S8 E2. Penultimate ep. Ah yes: The King David Hotel one.. They managed not to mention Begin.
It would appear that my niece is up the duff. Well there's a thing.

Morning denizens
Sunny day today, as expected, though closer inspection reveals that the sunlight is actually being attenuated to some degree by a uniform layer of high haze, which is expected to thicken somewhat during the day, resulting in partial cloud cover. The heatwave is in full flow, though: already 24°C, and with an expected high of 30° that will both arrive sooner and last longer than yesterday's. The barometers aren't much changed at 1002/1010mB. There is, apparently, a bit of a breeze but not really enough to make a big differenceComment

Morning all
Cloudy. Currently 22 degrees ('feels like' 25) with a high of 25 expected. Risk of a shower at some point. Barometer at 1014 mBar.
Sunrise 05:45; Sunset 20:28 BST
Pleased it's cooling off a bit. The air conditioning in ClientCo's office isn't too fierce but I did bring a cardigan, just in case. As expected, I am sat at a random desk, talking to no-one and the two meetings I have will be on Teams. Other than having one conversation in person, that would otherwise have been done over Teams chat, I could be at home.Comment
