It's going to be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow. Might have to put a jumper on.

An episode of Evil was watched.

Spent some time tinkering with Apple's Natural Language Processing APIs earlier. Was able to pass in a test sentence and have it correctly identify several place names, though it also failed to identify one, thinking it was a personal name instead. It did correctly recognise "London Zoo" as being a two-word name for a single place though!

And later, I read a couple more chapters of The Nazi Mind

      Goodnight all

        Morning.

        Wednesday.

        Dry.

        Blue sky.

        Not sunny. .

Cooler in here at 21.8 deg, 22.5 in the kitchen, 20.5 in the leanto, 15 outside.

1011.5 mBar, 29.87 in Hg, 758.7 Torr, 14.67 psi, (up from 1009 last night), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 28th of January 2020 BR14 popped in, LM drew us a picture, DaveB cleaned a roller with Isopropanol, everyone had tea, and NF declared it was getting colder whilst he gazed at the Shoulder of Orion.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

On the way back I noticed "Let agreed" on the sign next door and there's some thumping about going on inside.

Freecell score: 100%, running average: 83%.

        Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Sarah Dunant talking about Renaissance Sex. Syphilis was mentioned.

Now wondering if I might mow the lawns this afternoon, though the dog turd on my lawn is putting me off a bit. Fecking Alsatian. I fecking hate dogs, and those in particular.

FB Abandoned Buildings thing had a house that belonged to Lt. Cmdr. M. H. Packard on it. The MOT on his car expired in August 2015 so he probably popped his clogs around then.

He was involved in the Cyprus thing: apparently the Septics wanted the island partitioned & it eventually led to him resigning.

More potching in the garage: today: sorting the biscuit box of assorted screws. Who knew there were so many.

Stone me that's hard work. Can't see much without the glasses on & all the lights turned on. Dunno what a lot of them are: might be M3, there's some 2BA as well, plus a shedload of those hexheaded selftappers they used to put tvs together with in the 1950s & 60s. I'm sure they'll come in handy now they're sorted, like.

        Tea: soup etc. Nice enough.

        Entertainment: PM.

Sky Arts: Wonderland (4 of 4). Not particularly inneresting with the first half being seemingly endless Tolkein, 10 minutes of "Riddle of the Sands" by Erskine Childers, then talking heads discussing Wonderland in General (Specifically).

Maigret: Felicie's House (2002). Still wondering about the assorted kittens, baby rabbits, the chickens, and the sheep in the hotel.

          Morning denizens

Grey day out and a bit breezy, which makes a nice change. Small (20%) chance of rain mid-morning, which would be even better! It's cooler at 16°C with an expected high of 21°, which would have felt warm a few weeks ago, and the barometers are up a touch at 1004/1012mB

Much excitement this morning as the greyhounds from the block opposite came out for their morning drive and are now three in number rather than two! I've previously seen other greyhounds visiting, accompanied by their humans, so I expect the extra one is just here being looked after while its staff are on holiday

              Morning all

Overcast, raining. Currently 18 degrees with a high of 24 expected. Rain set to continue for most of the morning before brightening up this afternoon. Barometer up to 1015 mBar.

              Sunrise 04:49; Sunset 21:21 BST

I contemplated going into ClientCo's office today, as they have a samosa sale on a Wednesday and they're very good. In the end, I decided a couple of samosas is no match for a lie in.

Trip to the beach yesterday evening for Max to have a cooling swim in the sea and the river. As usual most of those on the beach were laughing at this mad dog doing circuits and generally having fun.
Took him out at 5:30 this morning and it was noticeably cooler (no complaints there). An early start and cooler weather meant that 10km was quite easy, and if it wasn't for the need to bill clients, we would have gone further.

Lunch has been the last of the cold sausages in a butty (because I'm out of white baps)

Another quiet day at ClientGov as we wait for other people to progress stuff. With the main other person on holiday and their cover having various unrelated urgent things to deal with, not a lot has happened. But I've followed my usual pattern this week of identifying one minor thing that I can have a look at in the morning, then having another look at it in the afternoon. This possibly leads to me doing something, should anything need doing, though it's never much

At least this afternoon is the occasion of the weekly departmental meeting thing, which everybody is strongly encouraged to attend to hear what's going on. I don't need any encouragement as I've long since established the habit of getting a mug of coffee and a plate of biscuits ready for the occasion; it's the perfect opportunity to zone out for an hour or so as people talk about stuff which almost certainly has nothing to do with me, and every now and then there's something useful or interesting in there
