Lunch: tomato sauce sardine toasties. Haven't had them in a while; very tasty

Quite cloudy out now but it's just a load of cumuli jostling for position, so I don't think there's any rain expected

I didn't strip the bed before my 10 am meeting because one of the ConsultancyCo directors called to discuss something about one of the projects I've been working on. During that call I took the opportunity to nudge for a contract renewal, as mine ends at the end of the month. With that sorted, I had just enough time to get another coffee made.

I didn't actually get around to doing the bed until well after 2 pm, after I discovered that Client#2 had cancelled a meeting. That left me with time to think about a document I needed to write for them, which required a procrastination task. I first cleaned the cooker hob and the extractor fan housing. The filter is one of those metal ones that just goes into the dishwasher. Then the bed was stripped and the first load put into the WM.

I have also written the required document and issued it for review.

HMWBO has had fun trying to get home from Madrid. Due to French ATC striking (their annual, we don't get enough time off in the summer, event), his flight to Paris was cancelled. Air France rerouted him to Amsterdam and then onto London City. Then the flight to London was cancelled and he was put on a BA flight to London City instead. It remains to be seen whether that leaves as planned as it's not scheduled to leave for a couple of hours yet.

In other news, I've just noticed there's a fillum out this weekend about the making of Apocalypse Now, which could be interesting.

Just arranged to take most of August off - after my last day on this project at the end of July, I start back after August Bank Holiday!

That's assuming they've got something for me to do, of course. A few ideas in the pipeline, it seems. With luck it'll be like September 2022 when the thing I transferred to ended up being delayed until February 2023. And of course the whole thing is somewhat contingent on what they decide about the working-in-the-office stuff

Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) restored and re-released. I believe it's included as an extra on some Blu-ray editions of the film. The Grauniad had a review yesterday: Hearts of Darkness: A Film-Maker’s Apocalypse review – Francis Ford Coppola and the mother of all meltdowns

Another week done, and only four more to go on this benighted project!

I forgot to submit my timesheet until just now, but I daresay it'll be approved soon

It sounds really good! I've got it in iTunes Extras and probably in the tin box Blu-ray, so I'll have to watch it some time

I have just noticed that my gooseberries are of the red variety, now they're no longer a greeny-yellow, and I have a couple more berries on the bush.

Sainsbury's (Not as Big) has been gone to!

I only wanted a few bits again and could have gone without until next week, but I had a feeling that if I didn't go, I'd end up spending tomorrow morning dithering all over again over whether to go or not. So I went and got it out of the way

Upon my return, I had to park behind a Tesla that's started showing up here. I don't know if it belongs to a visitor or somebody who lives here. They can't charge it here, that's for sure. It's a 74 plate so whoever owns it doesn't have the "Bought it before Elon went mad" excuse

Tea has been a Sainsbury's assorted-bits-of-BBQ-pork thing, with chips. Nice enough, though I wish they didn't put what seems to be the same BBQ sauce on all their things of that ilk; there's plenty of opportunities for variety there

This was accompanied by the first half of the second part of the new 24 Hours in Police Custody
