Lunch has been turkey sandwiches (wholemeal)

I still haven't used the breadmaker. I think there's room in the freezer for a wholemeal loaf now, so I ought to get around to it

Not sure what it might be other than Google and Bing being dicks?
Maybe I have to bribe them.

        Afternoon all

Sunny but with the sort of clouds that threaten rain, although none has materialised yet. Current 18 degrees, and that's the high for the day. Barometer up to 1019 mBar.

        Sunrise 04:45; Sunset 21:16 BST

There was much rain off and on yesterday. Glad I had a brolly. Got very soggy on the walk home from the Lizzy Line station. A very nice evening out was had.

Today has been a lazy day with much laundry being done. No visit to Mum but we have spoken on the phone.

Didn't do volunteery thing today. Went to village club for drink after me walk. I never have to pay for a drink, a bloke there always insists on buying me one, dunno why.

Me nice lady neighbour is in hospital again, some infection.

Further viewing was the latest episode of 24 Hours in A&E

Some very sad backstories in this one

Monday again tomorrow. But this project will be coming to an end very soon, and tomorrow will help us get to that point! So maybe it's not all bad

              Goodnight all

                Morning denizens

Sunny sort of start out, though the day is expected to be predominantly cloudy. It's 13°C with a goal of 18°, and the barometers are up some more at 1009/1017mB

The young magpies are out and about early. They just got into a bit of a kerfuffle on the lawn, having just come there from pecking about in the moss on a garage roof out the back. It was unclear whether this involved the squirrel that was in the same small area of the lawn, but if it did, the squirrel remained imperturbable and largely ignored them

                  Morning.

                  Monday apparently.

                  Dry.

                  Grey.

                  Sunless.

Chilly in here at 16.9 deg, 17.5 in the kitchen, 16 in the leanto.

1016 mBar, 30 in Hg, 762.1 Torr, 14.74 psi, (up from 1015 last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).

Freecell score: 79%, running average: 82%.

Meanwhile on the 23rd of January 2020 someone got a pali, I was off to an old fart's meeting in The Bank Statement in Swansea which I remember being a Barclays Bank of impressive proportions but is now reduced to being a pub, BR14 popped in, LM popped but was tired, and NF was watching various S3 eps of STNG, two of which having almost exactly the same plot. Make it so. .

Well that answers that question: no one can't buy a 2" hinge in Neath any more. Off to B&Q we go.

Shopping trip to The Range, B&M, and Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

                  Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling about Very Light Rail in Coventry rather than proper trams. Rather than putting the rails in the road, they'll be on top of it. .

Shopping trip to B&Q since hinges are locally unavailable: 34 down, 34 into Swansea, T6 back rather faster.

Tea: Tesco 3 bean chilli con carne and rice. Nice enough.

Entertainment: PM waffling on about 's heating allowance. Feck me the presenter is babbling.

I seem to have caught Trump Vietnam Avoidance Disease. My right heel is fecking agony at the moment.

Thing on PBS about Los Angeles. The septics have glorious history of genocide of Native Americans. $100 reward for killing one at one stage.

Freecell score: 75%, running average: 82%.

Skinwalker Ranch. The drilling into the mesa has ground to a halt: the drill tip transducer thing keeps losing lock. Next: shooting rockets in the air & hitting something they can't see. Always good for a larf, like. And launching a drone swarm to really piss of the s.

The drone swarm proved problematic: of the 1000 they managed eventually to launch 200. The highspeed drone was affected by something unknown & crashed.

Next week's ep has drones falling out of the sky like rain. . Which is all well & good unless you're standing under the damn things.

Thing on PBS about food rationing in WWII. IIRC it was worse after the war than during it: bread went on the ration in 1946 until 1948. Meat was still on the ration when I was born, though it came off it shortly afterwards.

The cloud is burning off, looks like it could be a nice day.
eBay stuff all live, and a few watchers, but not many bids yet. No rush, and anyway, it's more about getting rid of things than the money.
Photography student came round yesterday, and I gave him some spare equipment I had. I was going to give him the third body (1Dx) I brought back from Mallorca, but then we tried it out and the sensor needs replacing. So instead I have "leant" him the 1DxII that I was going to keep for myself. He was really pleased.
