    Morning denizens

Cloudy start, though thinly so, meaning it's still bright. It'll be about as warm as it was yesterday: 15°C already, with 25° by mid-afternoon when it'll also get sunnier before the return of the cloud this evening. You'd think we'd at least get a good thunderstorm out of it, but no such thing is forecast. The barometers are down a little to 1013/1021mB

      Morning.

      Tuesday?

      Dry.

      Grey.

      Sunless.

Cool in here at 19.7 deg, 20.5 deg in the kitchen, 19 in the leanto, 18.6 in the saltinghouse.

1020.5 mBar, 30.135 in Hg, 765.44 Torr, 14.8 psi, (down from 1021 last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 25th of January 2020 my back was complaining about the can collections in preparation for The Leg realling going to town on it, BR14 popped in, OPM was off to town to get a new saw to cut up the Xmas tree so it fitted in the green bin, LM asked if the council did an Xmas tree collection, and WTFH was seeking suggestions for a Big Birthday Present at a significant age.

Washing frenzy in progress. Everything out on the line.

      Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: can't remember.

Shirts & some cottons in off the line & duly iRoned: all airing upstairs.

Entertainment: The Infinite Monkey Cage: The latter part of TheCyber Codebreakers (from BP apparently), Hedgehogs, the start of Starless World, Bible Black or otherwise.

Once I've consumed a cup of mediocre coffee it's back down to the garage for more potching.

It was wanly sunny earlier but it's wan to grey now. Not particularly warm & there's a breeze.

Half the smalls in off the line.

      More potching in the garage.

Tea: battered cod (or haddock). Nice enough even if I don't know which it was.

Entertainment: PM until the presenter exceeded my tolerance of inanity by a good measure.

Feck nose if there's owt to watch on the box this evening. Judging by last week: not much.

Had another of those job dreams this morning. It's really really really getting old now FFS, having been retired for 6 years.

Thing about Merthyr Tydfil and how it made the world: iron capital of the world in 1800. Much as Swansea was the copper capital. All gone now as if it had never been.

Hidden side of WWII: (as if anything is hidden by now, but there you go): Liberation, or how the Septics intended to govern France before De Gaulle stuck his oar in.

Was going to watch the Dave Bautista film but it's not highly rated on imdb.

Drank my bottle of Old Peculier, followed by a Gran Marnier chaser, so fell asleep for half the Merthyr thing.

In other news, the Hoover factory in Merthyr is to be demolished for housing. 1948 to 2008 IIRC.

Misty earlier, which had cleared for a very pleasant 9km walk. The mist now seems to be rolling up the valley from the coast, but it's not made it as far as us yet.
The Wife has come down with a cold, which isn't helping her sleep, but her knee does seem to be improving.

All the eBay sales have been packed and shipped - who knew someone would pay £50 for a broken camera? So now there's less junk in the office. I wonder how much I'd get for a Meraki MX64, that might go in the box for the next clear out.

            Morning all

Blue sky with wispy cloud. Currently 20 degrees ('feels like' 25) with a high of 26 expected. Barometer at 1026 mBar.

            Sunrise 04:43; Sunset 21:21 BST

Towels dried in no time yesterday but I didn't bring them in until around 5pm. Smalls and tops currently being laundered.

The WM has beeped to indicate completion of its duties. Now for the tedious pairing of damp socks (makes for quicker putting them away, Brillo would understand).

Only two pairs of socks, so that wasn't tedious at all.

Next load in. This comprises dresses, a skirt, and a shirt (or blouse; I've never quite determined the difference).

Enough items from the first load had dried to facilitate the reorganisation of the remainder such that putting out the second load could be swiftly achieved. I have jeans and trousers to do next but I think I'll leave them to later or tomorrow.

Lunch: turkey bap (wholemeal) and a bag of plain crisps

I've got a duvet cover in the wash, which is now on the drying cycle. Not sure why it didn't get washed along with its matching pillow cases, which are folded up and put away

The crow that doesn't seem to get along with the young magpies was back earlier. I think it's a juvenile too. They seemed a bit more inclined to leave each other be this time, while still being a bit cagey

One of life's great mysteries, where do socks disappear to? Surely our great scientists should concentrate on this important issue rather than trying to determine the origin of the universe. Big bang, shot out of god's bum, whatever. What difference does it make?

Arty farty thing this morning, just did a sketch as had run out of watercolour paper. Just back from lone walky. Not sure about karaoke this evening, tired!
