Lunch has been some chicken bits with ketchup

With that out of the way, I think I'll spend the afternoon trying to decide what to have for tea - well, maybe do a bit of work as well

Still a nice day out, with the cloud increasing a bit but pretty wispy. There's a bit of a breeze too, which is keeping things from getting unduly warm

      Afternoon all

Clear sky from my vantage point. Currently 21 degrees ('feels like' 24) with a high of 23 still to come. Barometer continues upwards, to 1020 mBar.

      Sunrise 05:11; Sunset 20:46 BST

Yesterday ended up being rather busy, such that no bulbs were planted. I think I may need to order a new bag of dirt anyway as I am not sure if I have enough.

Today has been quite busy, with a deadline enforced by a third party because they're going on holiday next week.

In positive news, the dodgy Swiss client is keen for me to do more work from the end of July onwards as they've angled themselves to fully take over the project I'm currently part time on. If it all comes off that'll be tidy.

Local history group meeting at local vineyard was nice. Lotsa yacking, Followed by a walk with a (non loony) lady and her dog round the lake.

          Tea has been penne bol

Accompanied by a further episode of the aircraft carrier thing, in which they had a few days of leave in Cyprus which resulted in a large proportion of the ship's company going down with Covid in the Indian Ocean, like a glorified cruise ship

              Morning denizens

Grey start today, and milder with it: currently 9°C (but only "feels like" 4°) and only getting to 18°. It's expected to continue thus for a number of days, occasionally a bit sunnier and warmer but not reaching the heights of the past few days. The barometers are optimistic though, being up to 1014/1022mB

Thursday! Just got to get through to teatime

I'm still not sure whether to do the shopping this evening or tomorrow morning. Might get it out of the way today

                Morning.

                Thursday

                Dry.

                Sunny.

                Blue sky.

Cool in here at 18.1 deg, 20 deg in the kitchen, 17 deg in the leanto, 14 deg in the saltinghouse.

1020 mBar, 30.12 in Hg, 765.1 Torr, 14.794 psi, (up from 1017 last night), 65% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 16th of January 2020: as per yesterday.

                Washing frenzy in progress.

Just looked on webcheck for "Sirius Cybernetics": there's been a fair few of those over the last 20 years. .

Even more for "Cyberdyne". "They'll be back". .

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

                Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: some pianist chap on R4. Well that was pretty grim.

Next: the iRoning: duly done with everything upstairs airing. T shirt got crapped on, requiring a partial rewash in the sink. Touch of bleach, though I think the stain is now fixed.

Freecell score: 100%, running average: 82%.

More potching in the garage with the late grandfather's toolbox/chest thing: it received a dousing in 5* wood treatment. The glue applied yesterday seems to have done the needful doings. One bit will need more attention due to rot: tomorrow is another day when the stink of 5* has dissipated a bit. Dunno what it does to woodworm, but I find it pretty unpleasant. Maybe the rodents will too. .

Found shedloads more ancient hinges & locks. I'll never need to buy more of those.

Tea: beans on toast plus scrambled egg. Nice enough & easier than boiled eggs.

Entertainment: PM. Doctor Who The Daemons E2,3,4,5. This one would have appealed to The Ancient Aliens nutjobs, the Daemons beings from elsewhere who encouraged homo sap to zap the Neanderthals (before it was discovered that all that cross breeding took place ).

Classic Movies: The Dambusters on Sky Arts.

Iolo Williams depressing us with Global Warming Yng Nghymraeg.

Wrecks that changed the world: Operation Crossroads at Bikini 1946.

I see the Saudis arranged a mobile McDonald's for the Orange Moron. Well I suppose cow's anuses make a change from sheep's eyeballs. .

                  Morning all CBS, etc.
Grass cut yesterday evening, both mowers were out of petrol, which is OK with a hand mower, you just push it to a convenient spot to fill it up. A ride on which is parked in its garage where you can't get to the tank is more of an issue. Disconnect the drive, then heave it out. Job done.

                    Morning all

Cloudy. Currently 12 degrees with a high of 17 expected. Low chance of rain possible all day. Barometer continues upwards to 1024 mBar.

                    Sunrise 05:09; Sunset 20:47 BST

Awoke around 2 am with an odd dream that I no longer recall and very irritable legs. However, felt surprisingly awake when the radio alarm eventually filtered through (Justin being snarky about "we understand economics language on this show" or words to that effect).

I have no meetings today, just an appointment with the hairdresser to banish those greys this afternoon.
