Lunch: chicken, tomato and lentil soup, with a chunk of wholemeal

It's turned sunny out now. Perfect day to go and get the new bike, except I still feel a bit fragile and I've got to work

        That's another week done!

Tea has been a pork cutlet with chips and beans

And I realised I hadn't watched The Repair Shop in a tremendously long time, so I did. The chosen episode featured Mad Professor, the reggae musician and producer, with a 1970s phasor that needed fettling. No valves though

More of Caledonian Road has been read, taking me to the end of Book One. I checked and there are five, so I'm about 20% through it

Early night now as I have things to do tomorrow, not least of which is fetching the new bicycle from the shop!

            Goodnight all

              Morning all
As part of the birthday celebrations, the boys of the family were out for An Evening with Aggers last night.
For anyone who enjoys listening to TMS, it is worth going to.

                Morning.

                Friday.

                Grey.

                Wanly sunny.

                Blue sky in parts.

                Damp.

Chilly in here at 14.9 deg, 13 in the kitchen & leanto.

1010 mBar, 29.825 in Hg, 757.56 Torr, 14.6488 psi, (down a tad from last night but bounced back up when tapped), 62% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 5th of January 2020 the weather was depressingly grey & dire, I cooked roast beef & a rice pudding (with unrefined sugar: probably a legacy from the late parents larder), NF went to the Co-op which didn't have anything he wanted so he bought other stuff to make up for it, and there was discussion of "Predator" and "AvP" (LM's favourite which NF hadn't watched), whereas I liked "Alien 2" because it was more to my taste.

                Sun came out.

                Now it's raining.

                Stopped.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine.

Range visited: didn't have what I wanted, I miss Wilko who would have had what I wanted, B&M had something which Will Do, but much more expensive than the Wilko version would have been.

                Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: something waffling on about shipping and CO2. :. Sails. Two years before the mast & all that.. As fecking if.

                TWATO.

More woodworking in the garage as I progress with the new old (or is it old old?) workbench. Some of the long screws I bought this morning were pressed into use.

Now trying to figure out how to turn it the right way up since it's heavy & I am most definitely not my father in the strength department. .

It's rained occasionally over the afternoon, but the sun has stayed out just the same.

Nearly forgot to lock next door's shed. Oh woe would be if someone nicked that petrol mower that is unlikely ever to see more use due to the idle Kinte next door.

                Tea: soup etc. nice enough.

Entertainment: PM boring me with endless stuff about earthquakes.

Thing on R4 about music: they were playing The Stones "Gimme Shelter".

Abandoned Engineering on Yesterday: one I don't remember: Osage Native Americans being bilked out of their oil money. Pol Pot's repurposed skool: S21. Latvia appartment blocks, soviet era. Dish antenna farm. Code name: "Little Star". Michelangelo Da Vinci restaurant in Italy.

Strangest Things on Blaze. Seen it before

What on Earth ditto: hulks on the Potomac river: remains of wooden ships built by Woodrow Wilson in WWI. Strange holes in Arctic ice: might be breathing holes for narwhal whales. Strange circular things in Ireland: might be henge related. Peculiar shaped depressions in the desert near Area 51. Chinese experimental "moon" ecosystem: except it's some sort of ginseng farm.

Mysteries from Above ditto ditto. Japanese Island of Yonaguni: steps descending into the ocean: "Atlantis". Russian island with shedloads of polar bears. Karst in Greece: twin "craters". Yellowstone caldera.

                  Morning denizens

It's a bright and sunny Friday after some overnight rain. Not going to be as warm as it has been, and expected to be a bit breezy too. Currently it's 9°C ("feels like" 3°) and the high will only be 11°. The barometers are down a chunk at 998/1006mB

I had an errand to run this morning, and Not-As-Big Sainsbury's was only a minor diversion on the way back; so the shopping has been done!

Now those car-requiring activities are out of the way, my attention needs to be directed to the bike. I'm not sure what time Bicycle Repair and Sales People have lunch, but I have it about now. So I'll do that, then pop down to the shop around two. That means I can be heading back before the school near the shop is chucking out, as that will lead to infestation of the roads with parental vehicles and of the pedestrian crossings and pavements with such pupils as aren't too obese to walk home

Lunch has been the rest of the pork pie from the other day

Rather Simpsonesque out, though a little breezy with it
