    Morning.

    Tuesday.

    Grey.

    Dark.

    Dreary.

    Dry.

    Sunless.

Chilly in here at 11.8 deg, 11 deg in the kitchen, 9.5 deg in the leanto.

1030.7 mBar, 30.436 in Hg, 773 Torr, 14.949 psi, (unchanged), 63% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 9th of December 2019 there was discussion of various teas, with ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion Orion rising magnificently whilst NF cooked his ribs for tea.

Trip to that Swansea to get shot of another foot of books and some dvds I'll never watch again (Man from Uncle? it seemed good half a century ago, now: not so much). Only bought two books back with me this time. There were some P.K. Dick books in the rack, along with "Ringworld". I left them where they were. I noted earlier in the week (or last week) that "The mote in murchison's eye" remained where it was.

Shopping trip from Tesco done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Nasty cold breeze blowing in my face on the trudge back.

    Lunch: brunch.

Tea: Tesco battered haddock etc. Nice enough: not cooked to death.

Entertainment: Nazi Hunters: Klaus Barbie, John Demjanjuk (apparently not Ivan the Terrible).

UFO hunters: orbs. The fright haired swiss git from Ancient Aliens stuck his oar in.

    Thing about canals.

Shed & buried: a rat rod "E type": the only thing E about it is the bonnet, the rest is BMW. £25k FFS.

The Bad Skin Clinic. Lady with alopecia. Young woman with PCOS giving rise to hirsutism. Lady with a goodly sized cyst on her head. Chap with folliculitis on the back of his neck.

    Shooter S2 E1, E2.

Lunch: leftover pork cutlet in a wholemeal bap with apple sauce

The lurgy hasn't got any worse, though we've got a retro meeting shortly which will probably give it a boost

I got a text from the dentist earlier cancelling my checkup next week and telling me to call. I did so, and now I'm going on Friday morning. This is a bit of a pain, and also means I could have gone on to Sainsbury's if I hadn't already arranged the delivery, given that I'll be halfway there anyway

Apparently they've done a rug pull and the top dentist now only sees private patients, leaving NHS ones like me to the cleaner I assume. Ah well, they could have just binned NHS services off completely, I suppose

Another day done. It wasn't too bad; mainly following along as another guy did some stuff on his current thing that I'll have to get sorted out for my thing tomorrow

This consultancy that supplies everybody else is very big on "pairing". I think the official line is that it's important so that knowledge isn't lost when somebody goes under a bus, but I do wonder if being able to charge for twice as many people to work on every task might come into it too

Tea: chicken madras with rice and naan

Réunion: 15 on a 5x5, thanks to a couple of mistakes

              Evening all

It's been cloudy and damp, with occasional mizzle. The high was 7 degrees ('felt like' 4). Barometer is at 1032 mBar.

I was up early this morning to go to the office. Busy day. Then drove home and had a glass of gently warmed mulled wine.

Tired, will most likely get an early night as I'll be back at the office tomorrow.

There's a new 24h in A&E by the looks of it.

Can't see it on the C4 website - there's a new 24 Hours in Police Custody though?

Tonight's viewing was a new Police Interceptors, in which they've switched back to Northamptonshire again

And in the Sassoon book, Sherston has bought a new horse for £50 whilst out hunting. Turns out this is around £7,400 in today's money, while his annual £450 allowance from his trust fund is around £66,000, so he ought to be able to afford it - though being a somewhat feckless young man, he keeps spending his money on things like handmade riding boots and Pope's translation of Homer, so is always broke

Two more days to go. There's actual stuff to do tomorrow, though I've also got to pop out for a routine medical checkup so I don't know if it'll get done

                  Goodnight all

                    Morning denizens

Grey start again, with just a very light breeze. Currently 4°C ("feels like" 0° supposedly, but I see no frost) and aiming to reach 6°, so no great ups and downs there. The barometers are also remaining fairly motionless, being ever so slightly down to 1022/1030mB

                    Penultimate day today

                      Morning all
4C earlier on our walk, which was dry but also involved my head torch dying about half way round (now back on recharge for later). Thankfully Max's collar torch functioned perfectly, alerting all and sundry to ur presence. The high clouds don't look particularly threatening and the gentle breeze, while chilly when walking, has no force to worry about.
The Wife is leaving me later. It's her company Christmas dinner tomorrow, so she'll head up this afternoon and be back on Friday.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore
