    Morning.

    Thursday.

    Dry.

    Grey.

    Sunless.

Chilly in here at 10.9 deg, 10 in the kitchen, 7.5 in the leanto, 5.6 in the saltinghouse.

1019 mBar, 30.09 in Hg, 764.3 Torr, 14.779 psi, (up from 1017 last night), 59% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 27th of December 2019 stuff was going on, HWMBO was recovering, WTFH was installing a camera, the match in Leicester was 4-0 apparently so someone won.

Curiously FB has decided I have no memories for today, however the endless crap it has fed for the last weeks has stopped.

Now I'll have to find something else to do with my time now hiding & blocking stuff has stopped.

Overcast and allegedly 3C out, but by 20mins in to our walk it felt a lot warmer.
The Wife decided that she'd not take any pain killers before going to bed last night. That was not a good idea.

    Morning denizens

Another grey day out, though it seems a bit less gloomy and damp. Still only 1°C and expecting to reach 4°. The barometers are back up a bit at 1012/1020mB

Read some more of The Forever War, in which our protagonists have returned to Earth and been discharged from the military after what was subjectively two years for them, though relativistic effects mean many more years have passed here while they were away and things are very different…

    Thursday tomorrow!

    Goodnight all

    It’s been a good series.

The Wife had a bit of knee work done today, which meant mildly less pain tonight. Hopefully it will improve, but we shall see.

    Now it’s TFBSZ.

Nice morning at pub with local history group committee. Don't know much about history but on committee as I do the website. They were playing lots of nice old fart music as it was mainly just us old farts there.

PS Darn it, got Sam Cooke's What a Wonderful World in me head now.

Lunch has been sardine toasties (olive oil ones)

I fancied the tomato sauce variant, but discovered I don't have any. Last year, they went through a period of not having any of the olive oil ones so since then, whenever I've been in that aisle, I've thought "Better get some olive oil ones while they have them" and neglected to get any of the tomato sauce ones

2C out, but felt warmer, and while there's no visible blue sky, the clouds are thin enough for it to have been bright on our walk.

Another gloomy grey morning out. Currently 2°C heading for 5°, with the breeze being insufficient for the "feels like" temperature of 1° to be given any prominence. The barometers are a tiny bit up at 1008/1016mB

Went to a wildlife talk earlier where the teenager I was mentoring was doing a presentation on bird photography. He did an amazing job… and he takes better photos than me now.

I don't know all the details, but I gather it was some mechanism for getting chemicals into a hopper or something along those lines; something that was similar enough to a lift for him to be working on it, but not for transporting humans. He'd put a warning notice that it shouldn't be used on it, and somebody walking by had accidentally knocked that off on to the floor, and then somebody else came along and started whatever it was. A sign hung on a handle saying "Men At Work" was what passed for safety precautions in those days, I suppose. They didn't let his widow see his remains
