Just finished watching Sherwood - quite good, I must say.

Have also decided that there were 3 adult foxes and one cub through our garden, although I think the cub has been hit by a car.

We’ve got the bushy tailed female, the skinny tailed male, and the crooked tail (probably female), all who have visited in the last 2 days. The cub hasn’t been in the garden for 4 days, and I found a dead cub at the side of the road 3 days ago.

No major motion picture premiere tonight, but a major motion picture I haven't watched in at least twenty-five years and probably more: Jaws (1975). It's about politicians grossly mismanaging a crisis though, unlike real life, some people who know what needs to be done cut through the bulltulip and do it

And then more people dealing with an unprecedented crisis in Life (2017). And yet more in Gravity (2013). Honestly, it's been one damn thing after another on my telly this evening

      Goodnight all

        Wot? No Wheeler Dealing?

        Morning.

        Dry.

        Sunnyish.

Warm in here at 21.2 deg (warmer upstairs, didn't need anything other than a sheet last night for the first time this year).

        Blue sky.

        1028 (ish) mBar, 30.356 in Hg, 771.06 Torr, 14.909 psi, ( 1027 ish last night), 72% RH.

        Saturday.

The drilling (or whatever) has just begun next door. .

Two windows painted, lost a screw down the drain, bird crapped on the fresh paint of one.

The Paint that doesn't Play Well with Others proved to be remarkably thick and difficult to apply, not that it matters much since the window needs replacing anyway.

Might have the three windows & the back door done. Or not bother doing any of it, whichever floats my boat.

Reading an ancient skool mag form 1973 (the only one that has my name in), discovered that one of the old boys wrote scripts for such epics as "Doomwatch" and the like.

        Who'd have thunk it?

It was the final skool mag before the place changed from a Grammar to a comp.

Lunch: baked potato with cheese and Morrisons el cheapo baked beans (not quite as nice as Heinz but less than half the price since the price went up), red corner yog, another yog, bramble jelly and marmalade sandwiches, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: "Dead Ringers" sticking the shiv into Bunter, the fat owl of the remove.

Wheeler Dealers S9 E14 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, with a 289 Cu in V8. There's a tall chap named Ed doing the mechanicking rather than a chap named Ant.

Goodness me, what a simple car. It looked lovely when it was finished.

Next up:S10 E2: Ford Escort Mk I, yes, really. From the sublime to something a good deal less sublime. WTF do you find a non rusted out Mk I Escort?

Just noticed something tiny & emerald green flitting about outside, turns out to be a ruby tailed wasp, parasitic on mason bees apparently.

More ancient aliens bollox: Gobekli Tepe, Bermuda Triangle, Black Holes, something else that I slept through.

Tea: spag with remarkably fiery bol after its sojourn in the freezer, stewed gooseberries and custard, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: The Monkey Cage thing on R4 with that Brian Cox (not the sweary one).

For the lack of anything to watch: Freecell score: 83%, running average 85%. Should have given up when it was 89%.

            Afternoon denizens

Sunny day again, and a bit warm out at 26°C. The barometers are down a bit though at 1022/1030mB

Lots of Duke of Edinburgh Award yoofs getting lost here. Yesterday I guided a bunch of them to their nearby campsite. Little while ago had to direct another lot who knocked on my door. Dunno why they don't just cheat and use apps on their phones.

                    And very nice too

Although I'd forgotten that they use those very thin noodles in their chow mein. I prefer the medium ones

Dishwasher broke down last night. Between me and a neighbour it’s now stripped down, rebuilt and working again.
Some gardening done in the late afternoon when the temp dropped below 25, followed by a surreal conversation with The WifeTM who was showing interest in today’s rugby, then has just told me she is godmother to someone (I didn’t know about). Now digesting that information.
