    Morning denizens

Sunny start out, though apparently a bank of cloud is going to move in from the northwest very soon. Currently 0°C out, confirmed by frost on the stable roof out the back, but rising to 10° by lunchtime due to the cloud cover. Barometers markedly up at 1017/1025mB

      Morning.

      Dry.

      Grey.

      Sunless.

Cold at 14.7 deg in here (6 deg in the salting house).

      1025 mBar, 30.27 in Hg, 768.8 Torr, 66% RH.

      Friday.

The washing frenzy is particularly marked this morning.

      Sheets in WM2.

      Smalls in WM1.

Smalls out of WM1 and into TD.

      Shirts in WM1.

Smalls out of the TD still damp, shirts out of WM1 and into TD.

      Cottons (other) in WM1.

Trip down town to sort out CC & pay cheque from other CC into Halifax account (easier than those confusing fecking machines in the bank, proper counter service), buying More Chicken for Sunday.

Walk (abbreviated) walked (added to the trip down town it's a little further than usual).

      Shirts out of TD.

Shirts roughly iRoned & airing in the back bedroom.

Sheets out of WM2 & hanging limply on the line.

Lunch: scrambled egg and poached tomato on Morrisons wholemeal sunflower and spelt toast, bramble jelly sandwich x2 on same, red corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: NZ Border Patrol: the usual.

Cottons (other) out of WM1 and into TD.

Cottons (other) out of TD & airing over the banisters.

2nd TD pass on smalls since they seemed damper than usual.

Smalls out of TD & airing in front bedroom.

Sheets off line & in TD, it's not really drying weather.

      Bed remade.

Text from surgery received on ancient batphone, requiring much swearing, plugging in of charger, and deletion of other texts to make room to receive it in bits: tried to reply: "invalid address!" so I phoned up & spoke to someone: 09:45 tomorrow for the flu jab, the old farts version which generally puts me out of sorts for a couple of days due to the bits of shark they add in.

Tea: Tesco breaded haddock, some fruit cocktail, a yog x2, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: Discovering Gene Kelly: not really my cup of tea but inneresting enough for his sheer athleticism.

Quantum Leap S2 E1 "Honeymoon Express".

Freecell score: 100%, running average 84%.

Dalgliesh E2. : only watching it to see how it ends. Definitely not Roy Marsden.

Biggest hits of 1972, whatever they were.

I was going to say that the Battle of the Somme with whizbangs etc. had concluded, however it's just started up again.

        Morning all

Dry, cloudy with patches of blue. Currently 10 degrees ('feels like' 8) with a high of 12 later. A chance of a shower this afternoon. Barometer at 1022 mBar.

Arrival to Glasgow was uneventful last night. Glad I have today off.

Today's fact, not from the Kantar diary, is:

Walk briskly walked, green ring closed

Still feels very chilly out, but the new coat does a cracking job of keeping me warm

And the recycling bin has been safely fetched back in

The promised cloud cover had already arrived by the time I set off so it'll start to warm up a bit now - already up to 5° from 2° an hour ago.

Not much cloud at moment, most of it is long trails from planes.
