Why do you think? Mind you it is hard to work for most people to out what information is new and accurate and what is old inaccurate and being reposted by people who know no better....

No idea... it's odd, because they got the name right for the ESS, which was also announced recently.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. But Gandhi never had to deal with HMRC

Surely if it's as doom and gloom as everyone says, taking any PS role, even with a new client and via a new agent, is high risk. Argument being, if the new role is deemed inside, and it has the same role title (e.g PM, BA, Java Developer) as previous roles wouldn't HRMC think ... if this is inside, and this is what you do as a role, then maybe all your other roles with the same title are inside too, and still do a retrospective?

If you therefore believe all the stories and assumptions, best get out of PS completely, or at least bench yourselves for a few months to see how this starts to pan out.

All HMRC see is NI number, the company the money was paid to and the amount. Job description isn't reported so would only appear in the later parts of an enquiry.

Yep it may be inaccurate and it may be paranoia but there are a lot of people in Longbenton who heard something and rapidly changed their plans for the next few months to feature a bit (or lot) of bench time....
I am "very close" to the XXXXXX team in HMRC's regional head office in XXXXXXXX. That's the best I can say, sorry.

Secondly HMRC know two things, many contractors do not understand IR35 or for that matter how to run a LTDco. Just based on my own experience HMRC could run rings around them.

They also play on the fear factor. Keep dropping them brown envelopes on people door mats and many will bend. I've had two employees that Hector was looking at. The stress it caused them one guy used to dread going home. He relented in the end and payed them off with a credit card. Few weeks later they were back again, looking at another employment when he was alluding to be self employed.

You don't want to be helping Hector get his ducks in a row. Staying in the same role after April will do exactly this.

You of course assume that Hecor has the computer skills to dig through that massive pile of data, not that are going to trust a contract to such a task

Ever heard of iXBRL? It's applied to all RTI returns and, put simply, allows near-immediate correlation between different returns. Data mining is the least of their problems.
