New or not, if it is an ill thought out and poorly researched question then they get the same answer. They might be new to the forum but they are not new to common sense, google and other researching methods. As you of all people are well aware it's a public forum and people are free to post what they want. I will take your request in to consideration though......
It's normal on any forum for the same basic questions to get asked and no "use the search" will stop this because the new posters won't have seen you say this before! You'll just have to live with the fact.

Tell people to use Google, etc, but there's no reason not to be polite about it. Just use a form reply "this gets asked all the time, please search [for XXX] and then come back if you can't find an answer".

Taking out the NLUK bit, I couldn't agree more that EVERYONE should be more welcoming and tolerant of new posters in the professional forum bits.

This topic has ground my gears for a long time.

          Welcome to CUK [newbie].

Take a look at the thread on the top of this board (Welcome/FAQs), it will help you to search for your questions.

Please also read the Nettiquette thread, this will help you to avoid possible abuse from the regulars on the rest of the board

On the right border, under 'CUK Navigation', you will find the First Timer's Guide, as well as IR35, etc - they will provide answers to your questions.

The guides will answer many of your questions (the calculators Calculators are particularly useful) but please come back if you have further questions.

          Good Luck!

A comment NLUK has heard a number of times before, hence his need to get his dose of testicular viagra from the Professional Boards.

It misses a bit though as it should include the following:-

if you have any issues click here (link to NLUK's PM) and our personalised help service will be only too happy to help.

Yes but you're thinking CUK is something special. It's not, it's just another forum and techy people join new forums that send you 'complete your registration' and 'welcome to the site' emails all the time... we just don't read these emails anymore than people read EULAs or credit card terms.

Get used to it, it's one of the reasons we need moderators in the first place!

WHS. It takes as much time and effort to be nasty than to be nice. Don't like what some new person has posted then ignore it. Don't bemoan it being a waste of your time, if your time is so precious you should really ignore it.

Which threads are you referring to? or is it more of a general point?

Of the two I can think of regarding iffy expenses - one was from a poster with over 500 posts who's been a member for a couple of years and the other is an obvious sockie IMVHO.
