    Don't sweat the small stuff

Just read this on the Beeb: BBC News - Juliane Koepcke: How I survived a plane crash
Juliane Koepcke was flying over the Peruvian rainforest with her mother when her plane was hit by lightning. She survived a two-mile fall and found herself alone in the jungle, just 17. More than 40 years later, she recalls what happened...
Somebody up there must have wanted her to be alive!

Says in the last paragraph that her mother survived for some days too. I wonder how many others were also still alive after the fall.

I was wondering the same the other day about those crazy cyclists who bomb it down the El Camino de la Muerte in Bolivia.

Because of the extreme dropoffs of at least 600 meters (1,830 feet), single-lane width – most of the road no wider than 3.2 metres (10 ft) and lack of guard rails, the road is extremely dangerous. Further still, rain, fog and dust can reduce visibility. In many places the road surface is muddy, and can loosen rocks from the road
Apparently unwary cyclists regularly sail over the edge and plummet into the rain forest far below, and it's easy to imagine some might survive for days stuck in some tree or undergrowth.

Yea I read about this years back ....

It is the same thing as the Andes team crash (the one where they started eating the dead) ... If you want to survive, you have to have the determination and belief. The moment you think you wont survive or give up, you're dead.
