My uncle was a policeman in Glasgow at the time and was bussed down to do the searches, he has a "I don't talk about it" thing going on with the subject. Must have been grim.

I remember an ex-RAF guy I worked with years ago making a comment something like "having to go to Lockerbie and pick up pieces of kid". I didn't want to ask him anymore about it, but it's always stuck in my mind.
