Just stopped snowing in central Leicester. It hasn't been too bad: the pavements are clear outside (main shopping road so the council may have gritted them) but there's about an inch out the back where the car is parked. I wish I'd got around to replacing those front tyres before Christmas

Still, I think I'll risk it and take the car out to Sainsbury's while I still can, then hunker down until later in the week

About 4 inches of snow here and still falling. The road is thoroughly white despite it being fairly major and outside a Primary school.

First time in more than 30 years I haven't made it into work. I turned round after about 3 miles. But when I go home I found out the M6 was blocked anyway. I mean we've only had about 4cm of snow. Why the hell has the whole Northwest of England come to a standstill?
