The Columbian Hostages thread was a real trend setter, I remember lots of similar threads such as the "Cumbrian Sausages". Yes definitely a watershed, in the CUK history, pushing back the barriers of posting.
    I'm alright Jack

These stupid people you see sg, that'd be whilst shaving then?

To reiterate my original contention, I'd have weighed up all my options before doing anything hasty. Military training you see? Leave the rash kneejerk reactions to lily-livers like you and AtW. Only a complete imbecile would choose to flee headlong into the depths of a south american jungle with no provisions, map, compass, or even the remotest idea where they were. That is why only the complete imbeciles on here chose that option. Those of us who opted to keep our powder dry so to speak, and grasped the fact that in the overwhelming number of cases these hostages were released unharmed, ultimately had our judgment vindicated.
Don't feel too embarrassed by it sg, in allowing the "thinner yogurts" amongst us to panic and, in most cases perish in the wilderness, mother nature is simply culling the dimwitted for the good of the rest of us.

If only I could have a similarly cretinous argument from AtW my day would be made.

        Hard Brexit now!

I assume that you equate "cretinous" with it going over your head? No change there then.

Remind me, what happened to the hostages that stayed put? Oh I remember, they were released unharmed a few weeks later. As for the headless chicken that chose the sg option, he got lucky and was rescued on the point of starvation by some friendly natives. No brainer really, which makes it all the more surprising that you of all people should not have stayed put. Ah well, I guess your inherent yellow-streak would have kicked in and sent you tumbling blindly into the undergrowth like the weasel you are. Good job you have remained a deskjockey all your life sg, you are clearly not cut out for the great outdoors.
Leave the rough and tumble to those of us with the physique and intellect to deal with it. You keep spotting those trains.

Poor SB. The usual torrent of verbiage employed to hide his inherent poverty of intellect. Sad really, but he does try hard.

It's nice to see how people grow and mature over the years, isn't it
