Sadly it seems to be what your competition are doing. You only have to get away with it once and get the first gig...can't beat em join em etc.

Put in those employers I am happy with. Drop those that are less than impressive.

Then just make up the dates. It appears nobody will ever know.

Does anyone ever ask for degree certificates outside academia or the banks? I may as well invent a degree too.

If I give the right ID documents, they won't be able to find out my DOB either. I wonder how may years I could take off my age?

You can learn a bit about them. Just pick our brains.

Seriously I've heard of PMs doing that to land permie roles.

Oh and don't make up proper qualifications unless you can make up a certificate for it.

Pay online. Fill in a form. 5 days later you have a degree.

        Sorted.

On the wall opposite me is my wife's framed degree certificate. I already have a scanned copy of it for her; I also have Paint Shop Pro. Cost £0.

She has an honours degree in Information Management. And her first name is the same length as mine, so it would still be centred.

It's just a simple matter of switching off one's conscience, isn't it.

          I wish I knew how.

RC - nobody gives a toss about degrees. I've got two and have never been asked to flash the paperwork. I've never been asked about them in an interview either.

I did a 6 month stint for the Civil Service and had to bring my certificates in. Also when I joined a logistics company. So that's twice in 20 years, some 15 different jobs/contracts.

              Hope it works out Richard.

I've had to 'flash' mine four times over the years - twice for companies doing audits on their contractors and once for a working visa for the USA and the other time as part of the application process.

I was working with a guy once, everything was going well. We were asked to do an installation in the USA, so we had to hand in our papers for the working visa. He returned from HR with an escort to clear his desk.

HR don't take this kind of thing too well.
