Daytime TV is the work of the Devil.
Controversial: anyone wanting benefits should have to hand in the TV.My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

It is. Turn on Radio4 for a more mind expanding experience.Originally posted by RichardCranium View PostDaytime TV is the work of the Devil.
There's a literature thingy on at the moment and then after lunch there is Ken Clarke's Jazz Greats.
You may think that this stuff sounds lame but it will quickly grow on you to the point where you can't miss it. I find the weekly routine of the schedule comforting when one is on the bench.Comment

Being out of work is depressing enough ......... you want to take Jeremy Kyle away from them as well???Originally posted by RichardCranium View PostDaytime TV is the work of the Devil.

Radio 4 is the place but I can't resist tuning in to Radio 2 at 10:30 for popmaster.Originally posted by sweetandsour View PostIt is. Turn on Radio4 for a more mind expanding experience.

It was on 18th December my head cold started.
On 23rd December we went away for Xmas. In the morning of the 23rd I was tired and coughing and sneezing and streaming. I felt awful and there was packing to do and a 4 hour drive to be done. But I still applied for some gigs that morning. Other people had said "There's no point looking for work in Xmas week, ha, ha!"
Other people were wrong.
One of those applications paid off.
I have an interview on Thursday up in the North West. My first face-to-face in 3 months. And its a PM role in my niche area paying a higher rate than any I've had since 2001.
And how many people are they interviewing?
One! Me!
Having niche skills does pay off.
(But I wish the cough would go away. 39 days I have had it now.)My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

Agreed. Going back to benchtime in the 90s I always looked forward to Richard Baker's Start the Week, an excellent way to, er, start the week.Originally posted by sweetandsour View PostIt is. Turn on Radio4 for a more mind expanding experience.

When Melvyn Bragg took over it was a big disappointment.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment
