We did the warchest sums a few months back when I was first benched and determined we needed to make a tough decision in July. So we made it. That was Threshold 1.

Today we collect the keys to a smaller house in a much cheaper part of the country.

So we had to get up so we can get some stuff together (2nd kettle, mugs, washing up bowl, etc.) and set off northward.

We shall be leaving behind this huge semi with views overlooking fields and streams and woods and farms. That is miles from civilisation, doesn't get real broadband (400k bits per sec) with an A-road out the front.

We shall be going to a terraced gaff with a dinky garden in a cul-de-sac in a quiet estate just outside a city with good road and rail access to the rest of the country. But the Missus can afford to pay the rent on her own while I keep looking for the next gig.

Not easy, this contracting lark, when the times are less good.

To make the move easier, we have an overlap on the two properties for a few weeks so we can organise the move and clean the house we are moving from. Sadly, it has very pale carpets in most rooms so I shall have to use a carpet cleaner on the entire house. Annoyingly, the worst marks were made by the letting agent's own plumber a week or so ago; he managed to get black grease smudges on the bathroom and e-suite carpets.
Oh crap - sorry to hear that

Thick oil and grease can be shifted with eucalyptus oil - test first. You could also try bio washing powder solution. Sorry, it's the best I can do.

Absolutely. And if anyone reading this has worked with me they will recognise the expression: "We have seen most of England and Wales at the expense of a series of clients".

Thank you for those suggestions. I knew of neither.

          What's this email?

Your one-year eligibility period to schedule and take the PMP credential examination has expired. If you wish to pursue the PMP credential, you must reapply and submit the full credential fee again.

How did I manage to forget I had paid for that?

Never mind it was only 465 Euros. <insert sobbing smiley>

          What a prat am I.

The PMI has also wiped my experience record. That takes hours and hours to enter.

Been following your thread off and on and sorry this has come to pass. Whilst trying to avoid platitudes let me add my best wishes and that I fully expect to read better news in the future. TT

So will you be updating your official cuk location details?

No probs - basic principle is use lighter oils than the stuff you want to remove. Worst case is your carpets will smell nice

Be careful with the bio washing powder solution if the carpets are wool

Sorry to heat it too Mr RC. Sorry for previous (typical) flippancy. You have made the effort to fit your requirements to your current capacity. Take comfort from the fact that you are far better than most of the scum who infest our nation.

                      Hard times indeed good luck.

Off for my 360 review tomorrow, might be warming the bench Tuesday. Oh the joys of being a permie.
