Problem with re-writing the cv is who are you targetting it at? You may change the cv so it becomes more appealing to the agent, but then the hiring IT bod rejects it. It's a complex science.

They made it clear you need to be able to show you are going to complete the course successfully and they would very much rather there was an exam at the end. But they gave us a couple of examples of when they have paid > £1,000 for training for someone with the skills and experience to do something but without a piece of paper to prove it.
The last training course I did, I went to Goa for three weeks because it was much cheaper than doing the same course in the UK. Maybe they will spring for that one for you?

I told them that I didn't want to do 5 days a week, ideally, since the drive home on a Friday would be a nightmare. Fingers crossed.

If somebody would give me a long term 3 day a week contract in a sleepy corner doing really tulip work I'd snatch their hand off. I've angled for it a time or two but not pulled it off as yet.

        Good luck !

There's a particular bit of obscure software that I became an expert in 2 contracts ago. I was even offered - and turned down - a permie role with the software house that produced it a couple of years ago (before the economy went pear-shaped and they started laying people off).

I have a search set up for that software; it has found absolutely zero gigs for it.

When Jobserve changed the other day, all my saved searches went pear-shaped and I have been running them manually.

I have just run the one for that obscure bit of software.

Half an hour after I left for that Back To Work Session a gig was posted on Jobserve for a project manager to implement said software. It was probably filled some time today.

          Bollocks.

That wasn't rain the other day: once again God looked down upon me, laughed and wet himself.

            Bollocks indeed.

Hope that the vacancy is still live in the morning for you - fingers crossed.

Apply for it anyway. You never know - Whoever else has applied or even been offered the gig may pull out, or the client may ponce about for two weeks before even starting interviews. It may not be too late.

Sorry luvvie - I don't mean to laugh but thats a brilliant saying!

Anyway - nevermind that - get your application in - phone the agent and hassle him/her into putting you forward!!

I fired off a CV & covering letter as soon as I saw it.

                      I shall start phoning from 8 a.m.

I'll beg if I have to.

(Only seen it through one agency, oddly.)
