Aren't you relatively safe even if you're in the water ? From what I remember of the big one that hit a couple of years ago with big loss of life some divers were amongst the survivors.Originally posted by cojak View PostYep, we'll be on a boat. It'll roll right under us... Comment

Depends how far out to sea the boat is! If the boat is near shore, then it's going to be swept in and dashed into the nearest hotel. If the boat is far enough out so that the water is deep enough to absorb the wave (you just get a little wave further out) then you might be OK. The deeper the water, the smaller the wave - it's when it gets to shore that the energy has no-where to go and it becomes destructive.Originally posted by Ruse View PostAren't you relatively safe even if you're in the water ? Of course, getting back into shore could be an "experience" to say the least.Comment

BUT - probably want me to be out there over Christmas. Girls will not be happy, to say the least, and I've already said that that would be a BIG problem that I couldn't accept.

 We wait and see....Comment

Or, a flight out, meet and greet, pick up shedloads of documentation, come back and then start in the New Year ready to hit the ground running.Originally posted by FiveTimes View PostHopefully the client will see sense and suggest a start in the new yearMy all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment
