Problem with re-writing the cv is who are you targetting it at? You may change the cv so it becomes more appealing to the agent, but then the hiring IT bod rejects it. It's a complex science.

There's a particular bit of obscure software that I became an expert in 2 contracts ago. I was even offered - and turned down - a permie role with the software house that produced it a couple of years ago (before the economy went pear-shaped and they started laying people off).
I have a search set up for that software; it has found absolutely zero gigs for it.
When Jobserve changed the other day, all my saved searches went pear-shaped and I have been running them manually.
I have just run the one for that obscure bit of software.
Half an hour after I left for that Back To Work Session a gig was posted on Jobserve for a project manager to implement said software. It was probably filled some time today.
Bollocks.

I fired off a CV & covering letter as soon as I saw it.
I shall start phoning from 8 a.m.
I'll beg if I have to.
