This is bad enough, but then they utilise cv blocking techniques to make sure other candidates (who may in fact be the best for the role) don't get their cv forwarded. They'll lie and tell you "yes I've put you forward" and do their best to make sure you don't apply via other routes.Once agents have the 3 CVs they need they stop looking. It is not the best 3 CVs they forward, it is the first 3 that match. You need to be in those first 3

I've got a place at an AGI event about cloud computing and virtual supercomputers this evening in Manchester. We bought the train tickets (with seat reservation of course) weeks ago and everything. I've really been looking forward to this presentation.
16:30, the train is, according to my diary.
So I have just dug out the paperwork...
The event starts at 16:30. The train tickets are valid for a 13:27 train.

Oh, the excitement of it all.
I was going to get in the shower, then dressed but then I read the post about the national debt. That cheered me up. Not. And a 0.1% increase in one day on Jobstats when every other day last month was a decrease is not a positive sign, either.
